Didn't really know what to call this topic! :?
I listen to Leonard a lot, have done for nearly 40 years, sometimes days on end. 8)
But there are times when I dont listen to him for quite a while and then when I come back to him its like meeting up with an old friend again.
I do think you can have too much Leonard tho maybe not many would agree, and I say that as a Leonard fanatic!! :)

Hi Schubert,

There's an old maxim that goes something like: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." This can
hold true for music, sometimes.

I can understand exactly where you are coming from with this because I am going through a "non cohen moment" just now . Can it be connected to anything in particular the seasons, events in your life , or is it just that too much of a good thing is bad for you . After all you would not drink the finest wines with your meal every night would you !! . But the great thing about Leonard is I ALWAYS return to his music eventually

I agree with you liptrot that maybe it's really just a case of too much of a good thing is bad for you,but as you say I always go back to him and he just gets better and better which is truly amazing after so many years. How lucky we are to have such a gifted artist in our lifetime!!

Sometimes I have a change of music.
Then after a while I go back to Leonard and as soon as I hear that voice again, my heart flips and I wonder why I deserted him for a week !!

If I could, yes. I get my LC fix on a daily basis, whether through links here to youtube or by pressing 'play' on my CD player 8) . Otherwise, withdrawal starts to set in  . What is wrong with me  ?

Kindest regards,
Mary

I prefer Dr Who's version: "Absence makes the nose grow longer."

Mary, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! You are a normal, healthy Cohen addict! :D

Hi Hydriot,

Never heard that version. Knew someone who cynically changed the saying to: "Absence makes the
heart grow fonder of someone else." :)

Hi MaryB and Mollydog
Does that make Schubert and myself lesser mortals or just ill with some kind of "non cohen" condition . I used to listen him everyday but now you have got me worried . I even gave up the chance to go to the Weybridge concert because of a few lousy pounds missing from my bank balance do you think I should see a doctor or will the illness go and normality return without medication

Ha ha liptrot, I reckon we must be ill with some strange condition!  Maybe the only cure is to be locked in a room for a whole month with only Leonards music for company. :D :D :D :?:

It would obviously have to be the "songs from a room " album

Shubert and liptrot;

Not to worry, you two are normal, whereas Mary and I are 'normal, healthy, Cohen addicts' fearing the agony of withdrawal.
