a basilisk stare
and the emptyness and cloudiness there
like an old teddy bear's eyes
and hatred took in another disguise
and i listened and listened to all the same damn lies
and i kept trying to work out the lyrics of american pie
and the truth's in the sky
for those with the eye
the stars will fortell
if we are to have heaven or hell
peace is mighty swell
like the ringing of the school bell
and we all try and attempt
to learn our lessons without relent
and the glow in the darkened tent
and the power of pandora did open
the energy of all evil ever spent
and the rise of the stars
just over the planet of Mars
did sign in the sky
that we are all about to die
and the torment of man will soon be over
and i happened to find a four leaf clover
and there was bluebirds over the white cliffs of dover
and i was sure this life was for free
allowed by the powers that be
to merge the ocean with the deep blue sea
and all the love that had gathered in me
and smooth the ripples that exist in time
that do exist in the middle of this heart of mine
a cessation of death
the great timewiper
that haunts us to our last breath
in some silent vacant stare
