Ballad of the Dominatrix

by imaginary friend
I, clad in strips of leather,
you, masked in rubber tight,
two incurable romantics
secured in sin tonight.
I, excited and empowered,
deal the discipline I must;
titillated and submissive,
you acquiesce your trust.
In suit and tie tomorrow
as you sit down to your desk
you'll thrill again to feel the pain
laid down at your behest
Ah – let others turn away
all righteousness and twee –
for they will never fathom how
our bondage sets us free.
(
...gotta live up to my reputation here y'know
)

Yeah Imaginary!!!!!
I love it and
knot just because it's naughty. You have a nice rhythm and solid rhymes.
Your third stanza was my favoutite.
I liked the image of the man sitting carefully down, stuck at work but his body reminding him of the fun from the night before ... sounds like your narrator has or gives a good snap.
I also liked the word play with
'secured in sin'
just goes to show that nice girls like whips too!

Ha-ha, I like your wordplay too Cate

Thanks for commenting.
Wish I could have gotten the whip smilie to work with this (all Macs at work too, but I haven't given up)

Thanks for your comments Tinderella and Evie.
Tinds, I know you like a smile (especially on Fridays); Evie, you're confusing mischief with talent!
My (adult) daughter read it, frowned and said: 'Huh! Sounds like you know what you're talking about!' (I'm 5'2", so the idea of being a dominatrix has a certain appeal...)
WhirrrrrrrSNAP!

Hi I.F...
First off, I laud your, um, taking command, as it were, in writing such a poem.. and yeah, it is too bad about Mac and the whip situation.. I'm a Mac person too.. and really, you'd think they'd be the ones more up on these types of things.. it's a shameful omission, when it comes right down to it..
shame on you, Macintosh!!..
... (I think my understated use of the neutral smilie alone should set a fire under those Mac people, actually, and soon all we Mac users will yearn for the day before all those domineering whip equipped smilies began bossing us around.. I mean, for pleasure is one thing.. but being pushed around by a little blue smilie with a whip insisting that someone on Facebook wants to be my friend, well, that's just taking things a bit too far I think.. (oh, wait.. aside from the smilie with the whip, I don't think I'm imagining this part)..
Of course, I.F. (back to the poem), you do have me wondering now just what constitutes a ballad, actually.. I may have to look that up.. I like the alliteration, at any rate, no matter what a ballad is.. a ballad of bondage.. a bondage ballad.. a bondage ballad of bad women.. or.. well, I don't really approve of this one, but the allure of alliteration is dominatrixing me into it.. a bondage ballad of bad bitches..
.. anyway, (back to the poem).. I particularly like your last line.. our bondage sets us free.. what appeals to me is thinking in terms of limitations as not necessarily being limiting.. that's a bit more open ended than bondage per se.. but.. anyway, it's how my mind works.. (..gosh, I guess I don't have a one track mind after all).. (who knew?).. (just don't tell Georges)..
Actually, I've been thinking of posting a poem that might interest you, I.F... it's not about bondage exactly.. but.. anyway, I will point it out when/if that happens..
.. okay.. gotta get into my latex now.. it's just past midnight.. the evening's just beginning..
um, yours (?)
v i o l e t
(actually, I'm in the country right now.. not terribly exciting up here, I'm afraid.. but I wanted to make an appropriate exit nonetheless.. I mean, for literary purposes, if nothing else.. oh, I just did my nails and toenails in ice pink.. does that count for anything?... I mean, I know it's not latex or anything, but pinky can be kinky, can't it? (say that fast, at least ten times).. (.. see? I can order folks around too)..
