Hi everyone,

I am new on here so you will have to be patient. I saw the film 'The Good Thief' and loved the song on it called A Thousand Kisses Deep.

Are all his songs styled the same way?

And can anyone recommend me one or two of his albums to buy?

I'm quite newbiesh too but I hope you don't mind if I answer. His songs aren't all like A Thousand Kisses Deep and I think that's only a good think -it would become quickly boring if all songs would sound the same. But if you like to have more songs like Thousand Kisses, get Leonard's album Ten New Songs where Thousand Kisses is too. At least for my ears the songs there have a similar style. (And I love that album.)

The album Various Positions was the first I bought and is still a great favourite. You could also try one of the recent double cd compilations like The Essential Leonard Cohen or Mojo presents...Leonard Cohen. These have a good selection of recordings over more than 30 years.

Hi teched, and welcome to the forum. Leonard's voice has grown steadily deeper and richer over the years, and his style has tended to mellow somewhat. If you liked A Thousand Kisses Deep, I would suggest that you start with Ten New Songs. If you are only going to buy a couple of albums, one of the compilations would be good, but if you then go on to buy other albums you will get a lot of duplication that way. It might be better to work your way back in time album by album. You will find the discography on the Leonard Cohen Files. Happy listening
