what was the message on that stone?
which was hurled across with the face of hate
and what was the message on the frightened schoolgirl?
walking the shields of shame, to be late
or the bomb disposal man looking through the same medium?
hoping that he will not be blown to kingdom come
and the summary stripping and leadened cruifixation of the army
watching the cortage of the brave and the barmy
who wins in this pantomine of hate?
the helicopters, the media or the garden gate?
the masked men or the disappeared?
that reappear again with skeletons that are sheared
and what happened to the warriors of old?
that knew what was good in principle and what was right
and always managed to fight a noble fight
for what they believed in was in their sight
and guided the others with their light

The nature of wars has certainly changed, hasn't it, Georges.

It's changed from the good to the bad
the electronic and the tears of the sad
the certainty and the pursuit of power
the exocets did hit the towers
the graveyard and the flowers
and the absolute of power

Right, Georges....the honour and the true courage of old, have certainly seemed to disappear.

Poignant poem, George.
LC sums it up in "The Future" - "...it is murder."
"There is nothing, nothing you can measure anymore...
The blizzard of the world has crossed the threshold
and overturned the order of the soul"

~Makera
