Life and death

Death, where do you come from and where do you go?
you are never welcome in this stage and our show
it comes unexpected like a firework that just glows
and bursts into your face, when you stoop to suppose
and where goes the energy that furnaced the flame?
disappears like waste down that endless drain
it stops the suffering, it stops the pain
a few nanoseconds is eternity's gain
and when you look at the shell of the rotting remains
empty and devoid of life, there is nothing to be gained
and when you compare it to the sparkle in a new baby's face
what happened to the magic? what happened to the pulsing pace?
and the futility of mortalism in the whole human zimmer race
yet we all continue to run in this stupid loaded contest
and continue to leave our garbled bequests

Hi Georges ~

I like the different ways you looked at death and life in this poem.

There is a continuous refining process evident in your work George, like gold ore in the smelter....
