There in Spirit

Next Wednesday I am the compère of a Gig at the Bloomsbury theatre in London. We are raising funds for Sheila Blanco whose son died in highly suspicious circumstances after an altercation with the waster "artist" Pete Doherty and his thug friends. Two police investigations so far have failed to uncover the truth. The police originally suggested suicide or accident. Both these insulting theories were rejected at the Coroner's Inquest where I represented the family.
The flyer for the Event contains some very moving words from Sheila. I have no idea how to upload it here but will send it on to a friend to see if she can.
Meantime I have another idea. Jack, of all people, emailed me the other day and I sent him the flyer asking him what possible excuse he had for not attending the gig. As if being in Canada or America made it tricky for any of you. The acts are headlined by the comedian Jimmy Carr, stand-up from me as well, music and poetry.
Here was Jack's reply
So, next Wednesday evening, spare your thoughts for a mother whose son was killed and who continues to seek Justice for Mark.

The idea in his reply has not been devalued by his subsequent madness about my daughter's diabetes, and I realise that I should invite you all to be there in spirit. Apart from anything else the seats are cheaper! Thanks for the notice of the event you are involved in. You can count
on me to be there in spirit supporting your cause.
Jack
