A face like yours

I've never seen a face like yours
so full of skin, so full of pores
a nose that snores
a mouth that roars
a chalky pallor from staying indoors.

Eschew nobility.
You is very smart.
I wonder if you post a poem or something about someone's face, seeing as we are on this thread.

this face, its smallest of tears

this face has just the smallest of
tears streaming down it;

tears absorbed
into these flushed cheeks. `

how much
has this heart loved,
and does it matter?

for down
down

down I go..

down with these tears,

with the pain
inside this heart
that’s loved.

Violet I liked your poem. I don't know much about tears as i seldom cry and I don't know much about down because I don't usually like the word but your poem brought to mind a verse from one of leonard's songs that use both down and (sort of tears) in a way that i do like. The verse is:
It's coming from the women and the men.
O baby, we'll be making love again.
We'll be going down so deep
the river's going to weep,
and the mountain's going to shout Amen!

I like the line about the river is going to weep.
Last weekend I got to spend time with my great nephew Bucky and I brought him and some other family members for a walk to the river. One thing that rain and tears are good for is making mud. Children like playing in mud and the place I brought him was where even an old guy like me has been known to get on his knees to play in the mud. Mud is a soft place to land if you are falling. When I was playing in the mud I noticed that when I got to a certain depth the river would begin weeping into the hole. I thought "Hey that reminds me of something" My niece was one of the people with me and we began singing one of her favorite childhood songs "Down by the Riverside" like you can hear by Sister Rosetta at:

It also reminded me of another Leonard song which goes:
And you say you've been humbled in love
Cut down in your love
Forced to kneel in the mud next to me
Ah but why so bitterly turn from the one
Who kneels there as deeply as thee
