North America in Fall?

In another thread on this forum, someone posted a rumor (stemming from a conversation with a band member) about a continued NA tour in October. In the interview with Jian Ghomeshi, LC noted that the Austin show was the 100th show, and that they were due to perform 100 more. Counting from Austin through Summer in Europe and finally Tel Aviv on Sept 24, I count 52 concerts scheduled. This means there are around 50 more dates to be scheduled, somewhere. I wonder if he will make a quick run through the US/Canada again, hitting major cities? I'm just trying to gather clues. Today Jarkko did give a definite "no" to someone asking if LC will return to New Zealand, and also said the tour will end this fall. And it seems like there have been postings about South Africa and South America but I can't find them. (And I don't want to start a rumor myself!) Soooooo...I'm just starting a thread about NA. I know other US folks are desperate to see him again but can't travel.

I'm hoping Jarkko sees this and gives his infamous "let's be patient and wait and see" answer which has always resulted in excellent news in the past! :)

Hi mnkyface,

I've seen that too. The tour is billed as the 2008-2009 World Tour. Right now Israel appears to be the last concert (was it Sep 24th?). However, there are still 3 more months in 2009, yes? I know Leonard, Sharon, the Webb sisters, the band, and in fact all the road crew don't want to tour indefinitely. There is something to having a private life and reconnecting with spouses and families. I doubt Jarkko will give any credence to the rumor at this point, but I, for one, am going to try to remain patient :D

All the best,
Diana

ps. I wonder if Fred the Monkey has the scoop?

Well, it's still a long way to next fall... He is doing US & Canada now, and after a short break three months in Europe... The tour has to come to an end at some point. We will see where it's going to happen. Just remain patient. 8)

The only thing I remember about South Africa was that they'd originally planned/intended/hoped to perform there, but for whatever reason, had to nix it. I was hoping they would go so Jo from Johannesburg could see Leonard.

In the beginning of the tour, when talking to the band members, South America and Asia were also mentioned - no rumors of that, yet. Nothing about a return to Europe (and see what happened  :D ) and NOW rumors of a return to NA. What does this mean - US, OR Canada to finalize the tour :? ?

Be the ball, be the ball, be the ball - Columbus, Ohio - Fred has to come home

Patience, patience, patience

Best regards,
Mary

It has to be Montreal!! It would be a perfect ending to the tour for Leonard to be in front of his home crowd. Don't worry, Mary, nous aimons les singes au Québec! :D :D :D

Thanks for your replies...
I am hopeful there will be more concerts added in the fall in North America!
I feel it will happen and though patience is not usually my virtue seeing Leonard in Victoria and Seattle
and feeling how sacred it all was....I am now going to learn and be patient...
Thank you Leonard for transmitting that to me on some level.
I love these posts and its wonderful! I have been a fan since the 60's but this tour has totally been over the top...
love it, love and more love.
What a golden voice and beautiful presence.
Anyways i can't catch any more of the US concerts due to other commitments so I for one will hope there are some more in the Fall...
if they aren't too tired...

Hi mutti,

I think you mentioned something about this in a different thread....(in a whisper now...)

come to Red Rocks....come to Red Rocks...
come to Red Rocks....come to Rec Rocks...

I keep trying to configure my schedule so I can attend red rocks or detroit as those are the only 2 in this tour I could make as I am either working or out of town...
living in Seattle it makes it very expensive...to fly there, get a hotel, car? and buy good seats as thats the only way to see the concert in my opinion..not the most expensive but as close as possible...I think I have to pass as I already spent so much going to Victoria as well as here.
Though red rocks is calling...
I am hoping beyond hope that Leonard is having so much fun on this tour
that after a rest he will do some more North American shows in the fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would then try to catch 2-3 and would plan around it...
I would love west coast of course
but if Montreal or New York were the only ones..I'd try to go..
I love this forum and thank you one and all!

Jarkko is the master of the "teaser"! However, to be fair, I know he truly doesn't know yet (as in confirmed-by-AEG), BUT, he obviously is somewhat in-the-know from discussions with Leonard's management, if not Leonard himself. Personally, I think so much is dependent upon how tiring the European tour becomes, and if everyone keeps healthy. As we have seen Leonard truly energized by touring and by the responses of audiences, I would hazard a guess that YES, there will be a "few" select concerts in the US and/or Canada in the mid to late fall! :D

Patience...patience....patience...patience...patience...patience...
