love song

Oh lord, the land of my heart
encircled in storm by you
in agony the puffin cries:
the sea is dark, what can I do?

But she, the garland of my eye
the gloss of a thousand years
the heather of my festering blood
refining the crust with tears

Oh, Lord, the God of my life
though time and space elapse
the puffin sings toward you
in spite he wont adapt

For she, the garland of my eye
the gloss of a single day
the life, beyond forever
will conquer my heart of decay

Hi Peter,

I enjoyed your poem, especially the puffin.

'land of my heart' – is this existence/planet earth?
'Lord' who 'encircles in storm' – the harsh side of the cosmos? (made me think of climate change)
The 'puffin' – I love that you chose a puffin – the spirit of hope? ... that just won't give up and adapt to adversity
The feminine 'garland of my eye' – the nurturing side of nature? 'refining the crust with tears... delivering us from the harm we've caused...

Am I out to lunch? I did drink quite a lot of wine on the weekend... that, and feeling a bit Violet-ish with all these elipses
