Hi everyone! I just signed up here so I wanted to introduce myself and say how UNSPEAKABLY EXCITED I am that I bought tickets for the Vancouver show, and got PRIMO seats! YAY!!! I went down to Ticketmaster (this morning) a couple hours before it opened and was first in line. My advice, if you're planning on buying tickets in your area, is to GO to a retail outlet. Trying to buy on the phone or online is very nearly impossible. Anyways, I'm very happy to be here and very excited about the show. Leonard means the absolute world to me and I've never seen him live - actually, I'm almost worried that it might be TOO emotionally overwhelming. Are any other members going to the Vancouver show?

Hi Iconoclastic B!

Sorry, but I can't bring myself to call you the female dog's name ;-) . Welcome to the Forum! That is fantastic that you were able to get such super seats for the Vancouver concert! My first Leonard concert was in Copenhagen and we were miles from the stage but thankfully they had great screens. However, I was fortunate enough to be at the Beacon Theatre concert in NY and this time Row 6! How special it was to be able to actually see his face and watch the interactions on stage as we witnessed a concert that was so awesome and spiritual and yet he and his audience seemed almost as one. It is indeed an emotional experience!

I read another of your posts in a different thread and your advice is excellent! If someone is able to actually get to a retail outlet for Ticketmaster that circumvents all the tension of online or phone (especially phone..do people still do that  ).

The Forum is a great place to be! Lots of sharing between fans, old and new. Also check out the leonardcohenfiles.com and speakingcohen.com. Tons of information on both sites.

Welcome again and all the best,
Diana

Diana, thank you so much for welcoming me, I was beginning to wonder if anyone would!

oooooo WOW, that is FANTASTIC about your 6th row seats. I'm in the 9th row and I'm not sure yet if I will be centered or a little more to either the left or right, because the venue hasn't published the floor plan yet. I just hope that I'll be close enough to see Leonard's facial expressions and actually see what he is like up close. My best friend and I are beyond excited about this show - honestly, I was beginning to doubt whether or not I would ever be able to see my idol live. He did tour 15 years ago, but I was only about 16 then and was just beginning to embark on my Lenny journey.

Thanks so much for the web links, I wasn't aware of speakingcohen.com and after perusing, I saw they have tons of really fantastic information on there. This forum is fantastic too, so many informative posts, gosh I think I've spent at least 5 or 6 hours exploring it in the last couple of days..lol Yes, I know I sound a little obsessed with Lenny, and I absolutely am lol! He's playing in Victoria, BC as well, so I might try and get reasonably good seats for that show too. If anyone has any leads, please let me know

Since you thought my advice in the other thread about getting tickets was excellent, I'm going to post it here as well. I'm actually trying to figure out how I can share my advice with as many people as possible whose hometowns haven't begun selling tickets yet. The reason being, I know how important it was for me to get good seats, and I know I definitely would have been hugely upset if I got crappy seats. Soooo I would love to help as many diehards as I can to get good tickets, without paying an arm and a leg via eBay or scalpers.

Here it is:

I was at Ticketmaster 2 hours before it opened and was first in line. I researched the different retail outlets and went to one in a very small, quiet city where there would be fewer people. My advice to anyone who is planning on buying tickets on the day they go on sale is 1) Forget about trying to call, you'll have little chance of even getting through and 2) Don't bother trying to buy them online either cuz you likely won't be able to even GET on the site. For example, my tickets were processed and paid within about 45 seconds, like SO FAST. The person next in line was processed within a few seconds right after me and their tickets were TWENTY ONE rows back from mine, so they sold REALLY fast.

Thanks again Diane, and best of luck to everyone still trying for tickets... : )

Denise, thank you so much for welcoming me - I can't BELIEVE I didn't find all of you sooner. In the past, I've run a couple of Cohen Yahoo groups, but certainly nothing near as intricate and fabulous as this forum. So glad to be here. Just curious, have you seen Leonard in concert before? I haven't, and I'm eager to hear everyone's feedback.

Thanks again, and you can call me "Bitch" anytime! : )
