To new members: activation emails

I am receiving emails from new members who have registered to this Forum but have not received - so they say - the activation email.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER. The activation email is most likely there. It is sent out automatically within seconds after your
registration. I have answered your emails, but several of my replies have bounced back, thanks to your spam protection, so you will
never receive my reply (like Joy B, Stephen & wife etc). Your only chance to complete the registration is to dig up the activation email
from your spam folder.
Hint: your spam protection is too strong!

jarkko,

I am sorry to contribute to what must be a flood of confused users. Here's my question: I am (obviously) registered for the forum and able to log on and post just fine. However, I'm also supposedly signed up to receive news from the site ("sign up" on the upper right of the main page)--I've gone through this process twice, and I've never received any emails informing me of anything. I would have imagined I would receive the big announcements of concert tours and stuff by email. Is this right? I've checked my spam filter thoroughly. Any thoughts?

Thank you much for all this hard work.

We don't have any email service. This Forum is a part of http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com, but you are obviously monitoring this forum on Sony's website http://www.leonardcohen.com . They used to have a newsletter but it has been discontinued years ago. I have nothing to do with Sony's Cohen site, so you
have to complain them. Another hint: connect with the Forum directly at http://www.leonardcohenforum.com and not through Sony - you will see the forum on your whole screen and not just in the mirror window Sony provides.

The system must have loathed my comcast email address, because I never received an activation email, try though I did.
I used my Gmail address just now and it worked fine.
Go figure.

Some service providers eliminate (=just delete) emails that they classify as spam. If so, it will be impossible for the receiver to find the email (or to know that it was sent). There is absolutely nothing we can do to this problem at this end.

Thank you Jarkko for your replies to us new members...I also have comcast and used 2 email addresses with no activation 'email' recieved. I then used my work email and it worked within a minute. have been a fan for over 40 years and am so excited to see Leonard Cohen again. Love this site..thank you!

Hi, I am a new member of the forum. I am trying to buy presale tickets for the show at RCMH in NYC. By joining the forum, am I also a member of the Leonard Cohen Club? Or is there another step? Thanks!
Leslie

Welcome to the forum... You are a member of the fan club but you have to get the password to enter on the Ticketmaster or Live Nation webpage. Go to the front page of the forum and follow the link to The North American Tour 2009. There's a link at the top of the page to Passwords and venue links, which describes the process clearly.

Good luck! :D

Hi Jarkko,

I tried to get mine through Comcast, using Zimbra SmartZone, but apparently it never worked. I used my Yahoo! Italia account, and was sent the e-mail in 20 seconds. Just a note, some E-mail providers are likely the issue in this case.
