Hi Geoffrey

I guess you're talking CD versus LP? If so, that's the eternal question facing anyone who's ever been seduced by new toys and spent too much on hifi gear!

Sure, the point of Leonard's work is almost all (for me, at least) in the words, rather than the music, but the visceral impact of great sonics from a non-digital source can be quite transporting in its way, too. And for that there's still no real alternative to vinyl for many of us. So I, for one, am pretty glad about this prospect. Silly, I know. Nothing's going to duplicate the experience of the first album played on the Dansette in my bedroom, circa 1969. Sigh ... (Scratches? What scratches?!)
