Hi,
I enjoyed a BBC FOUR show the other night (In Concert: Tom Paxton (

Does anyone know the names for all the songs he performs and the albums I should purchase to obtain them?
Many Thanks

Hi w!ky,
I'm no expert on Tom Paxton, but apparently the best overall album to get is "The Best of Tom Paxton -The Elektra Years" (NOT "The Very Best Of" which is a later recording). "The Best of" includes "The Last Thing on My Mind" and "Talking Pot Luck Vietnam Blues" which were featured on the programme, and and old favourite of mine "Leaving London" (which wasn't). There doesn't seem to be a link to this on Amazon, buy play.com gives links to some American dealers who have reasonably priced new copies.
One of the best songs on the programme was "I'll Give You the Morning", which is available on "The Things I notice Now"
All good things, John E

These posts brought back memories for me. I remember seeing Tom Paxton at the Royal Albert Hall in the early seventies. I've just dug out the Compleat Tom Paxton (1971 vinyl) and am enjoying listening to it again, so thanks for that! My favourite Tom Paxton song was always Peace Will Come. I notice that CD baby has an album "Live in the UK" for $15. It was recorded in 2003 and looks pretty good.

Hi,
Tom Paxton will soon be touring England and next Sunday (Feb.18th) he is appearing at The Lowry, Salford.

I saw him for the first time at the Albert Hall in 1969 (another lifetime)and have seen him many times since.
Always good concerts and the song 'I can't help but wonder where I'm bound' always and, unfortunately still, resonates with me.
Yesterday he was awarded a Grammy for lifetime achievement
The award, which honors artistic contributions to the field of recording, will be announced on tomorrow night's live Grammy telecast and will place Paxton in pretty fine company. Previous Lifetime Achievement Award recipients include some of the most famous of all folkies: Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and the Weavers, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.

Very interesting, thanks for the information.
Does anyone have or know a good resource for Tom Paxton guitar tabs?
Im particularly interested in playing "last thing on my mind", "i give you the morning" and "forest lawn" however I cant seem to find anything much at all online and there are very few covers on youtube.
Many Thanks
