Hampton Lane

Halcyon days in Hampton Lane
The perfect path for whimsical meditations
The Hampton’s where NewYorkers escape
The humidity and heat of the cement summers
Pass the city limits to cornfields and meadows
Through the inner eye seeing the worlds window
Keep walking, Gym-Jogger, keep talking
Life’s good on mid-summer wings
Life’s sweet, lyrical, sing birds sing

Dappled light breaks through the woods
Sees the naked uniform of lovers is nude
Nature, forests, vertical cities
Nature, figures with impunity
Nature, graphic images of birth
Nature’s sexual flowers and fruits
Nature is as rude as a root
Nature’s so earthy, Nature is good

Today you can count all the clouds, why
Today there are none in a perfect blue sky
There is a fresh breeze blowing your hair
And other cosmic celestial choirs chant
How mystic pleasures touch open hearts
And vicarious pleasures take another look
To Fire Island for real body heat
Where fresh is tanned so evenly
The class and sophistication are elite
Once sunbathing nude was intellectual sex
But now sunbathing nude is executive sex

Nature’s big, and beauty always young
Like a single second ticking on a clock
We laugh and smile, sunshine is free
But no one teaches the grass to grow
No, the grass just seems to know
Show the grey, black and white colours
Of the melancholic Russian Rainbow
But not here in merry Hampton Lane
The mystic attitude is all summer’s game
The Olympic Torch is truly Nature’s Flame

Dear George

There is enough material here to write a reasonable song, when I get round to it. The musicals are taking shape nicely just now but they have a long way to go.
