Manchester United will be playing Celtic in Glasgow on Nov. 5th.
There will be thousands on the streets so I would advise making early travel arrangements on the night.
I should think buses, taxis etc. will be very busy.

I wouldnt be too worried about the traffic before the concert because the football game is in the East of Glasgow and the Clyde "Armadillo" Auditorium is central.
You should be on your guard after the concert though.I will anyway.
I was looking at the pictures of the Auditorium . It is something special

I think the band will really enjoy this top class venue.

Am I missing something? That's just a soulless auditorium like any other.

Thanks for the reminder David, and I agree with you; Celtic v Man Utd likely to affect travel to the Armadillo depending on how you are travelling and from where.
cheers

Have you been in the hall richard?
Re the travel issue as i said It shouldnt be a problem for the LC concert because Parkhead is at the other end of Glasgow from the SECC.Traffic from the north going to Parkhead goes south down the M73 and coming south cuts off along London Road.
If fans are in the centre of Glasgow at say 7.00pm then they will be late for the game because it starts at 7.45pm and it will take at least 40 minutes to travel from Sauchihall street to Parkhead.
If traffic is an issue it is more likely to be around the SECC itself because there is an Oasis concert on next to Leonard Cohens and parking will be at a premium.
There is parking in Charing Cross and a walk along St.Vincent Street to the Secc is about 20 minutes.Thats what I am doing.
There is a big car park at the SECC too as well as plenty street parking in Finnieston.

Hey,
Some advice for people visiting SECC - parking is nigh impossible in the surrounding area, unless you get there very early. It'll be horrendous on Wednesday night, especially with Oasis playing in the big shed.
I stay just round the corner from the exhibition train centre station and many a night I've watched people drive around for ages trying to park their car...I'd do what tommylen suggests, either park at Charing cross and walk to SECC or park in Partick and jump on the train, its only one stop away.
Thursday night should be a whole lot better...though personally, I only have a 500 metre walk from me flat to the venue!! hehe
Cheers,
Lenny

Hi Madzac
I know the area very well too .The Oasis concert is sure to cause congestion.
We will be arriving at least one hour before the concerts to make sure that we get in on time.
Give yourself plenty time .
Cant wait.

Last one on this.
I have just noticed that there are big hold ups outside Dundee .
This will delay travellers heading to the concert from the North.
Delays are half hour at Longforgan and there is not a by pass.

I'm heading to the SECC on the 6th and will be pushed for time getting there. What time is Leonard Cohen normally on stage. I know the tickets say 8pm, but is this for a support act or the man himself ?
thanks,
T

Hey,
If you are traveling by car and are parking near to SECC, don't park on the unmetered side of Minerva Way - walking home last night I seen these cars getting ticketed by the traffic wardens.
The vehicles on the metered side were not ticketed, and you can park there free of charge after 6pm.
Cheers,
Lenny

Left Edinburgh at about 4.45pm and did not get to the SECC until 6.45pm! Stand still on the M8, I hardly ever got over 50mph... I do not think the football match, or Oasis playing next door, were the cause of it either. On the way home it only took me 50mins...
Quite a few empty seats near me (Row G) and although some remained empty all night, most were people caught out by the traffic probs. Our friends missed the first 3 songs before they got there...
