Mirrors

When was the last time we met?
Has it already been 5 years?
What happened to your skin, your beauty?
Did your mother forget to buy you the expensive creams?

You say I have also aged poorly?
I wouldn't know
For I refuse to live in a world
amongst mirrors

Such an interesting perspective this poem is written from. As the writer contends to refuse to live in a world amongst mirrors, the writer readily assumes the role of a mirror for the woman about whom the poem is written.
