Childhood

When you were very young and crawled around
long before your feet could balance on the shakey ground
and fairies and elfs danced around your face
and this world was a very, very magical place
everthing looked huge and very strange, all around
and time had no meaning except hunger abound
there was no knowledge of right and wrong
except the chorus in your head of some wonderous songs
and chairs were giants and tables were trees
oh what it was like to be that free!
to believe you would be here forever and ever
and the world was made, just for thee
and to realise that dream and have it broken
by a hand across the bottom
the parent's have spoken

such a sweet poem! full of truth and things to be thought over...
a perfect description of childhood.
though i`m not a child anymore,i`m already 18,i sometimes feel the same way ...like there really are some fairies or elfs and the ground is shaking as in a fever...i just can`t explain this,,,

I enjoyed the way you did this one, Georges....from the eye level of a child, with the humourous twist at the end.

Both of you thank you, for it is only as a child that we can really see.............the beauty of this forbidden planet, that is ours but not ours, for we cannot agree and live in peace!
I have written today to show critics like heretic that words are just a dream. It's the emotions that we must hit!!
They stay forever and a day!!
