When you were very young and crawled around
long before your feet could balance on the shakey ground
and fairies and elfs danced around your face
and this world was a very, very magical place
everthing looked huge and very strange, all around
and time had no meaning except hunger abound
there was no knowledge of right and wrong
except the chorus in your head of some wonderous songs
and chairs were giants and tables were trees
oh what it was like to be that free!
to believe you would be here forever and ever
and the world was made, just for thee
and to realise that dream and have it broken
by a hand across the bottom
the parent's have spoken
