when I see posters like Cate boasting that they spend almost 10 minutes composing a poette, I realise it is time to return to speed writing which has the advantage of errr...not taking very long to write. this took 4 minutes 37 seconds

tears came to my trousers as I read the 2 little gems from our resident Norwegian blue, Geoffrey Wren, whose beautiful plumage flaps out of his every line.

here is my tribute to Geoffrey, he is worth all the time I devoted to him

I attach these photos of Geoffrey so you may better understand my poem. First we see Geoffrey as he appeared circa. 1985, then we see Geoffrey disguised as a famous building. Finally we see Geoffrey as he appears in 2008. In all 3 portraits he is wearing his trademark dinner jacket and bow tie (except in the second one when he isn't).

In the interests of equality I now add 2 pictures of myself. In the first and final one I am composing and also pointing in your general direction
the second and final one shows my reaction the first time I ever met Geoffrey
the third and final one shows me about to go to bed

thank you, I like words that run onto different meanings. I will be careful but if I do hurt it I hope you will cum and give me head, treatment. that will make me feel better.

I really liked this. Cate is right that would be a really good game/competition to get running. It would have taken me a lot longer than 4 mins 38 secs.

It reminded me of a clapping game we used to play.

Yes Michael - that game would need to take more then 4 minutes 37 seconds as impressive as that time is there are others of us who might take a little longer.

We used to play one very similar,

This one also at some point said

but it's a bit foggy, I think a bee was involved as well.

ah, memories! I don't share the same first 2 lines and yours have driven mine away for now. our version had the superior rhythm of
"flies are bad
but bugs are worse
and that is the end
of my Chinese verse"

3 minutes? that's not soft-boil, that is runny and yukky. your toasted soldiers would be covered with runny yuk not yoke. in England there is a school of thought that says the singing of Onward Christian Soldiers allows the perfect timing for a perfect boiled egg. whilst this may seem tough on atheists they do not deserve to eat anyway.
