Reverie Nuptials (just being silly)

Reverie Nuptials

Freeze dried little man
sitting on the shelf,
I scoop you up
and take you home.
Into my tub you go.
A little water, a little time
and, oh my
how big you’ve grown.
I carry you down to my cart
and pull you to the church.
In paper-maché wedding gown,
I stand there and I wait
for the preacher man
to declare to us, our
red wax lips should meet.

Not so silly, Cate!

If I wrote that poem
I could have entitled it
"The Way We Were"

Seems to me a good
Satirical
Paraphrase
or
Parody

I liked it

Hi Sean -

I have to admit that I often try to use satire - I like it, but I didn't try to here - really I was just being silly. I like silly. I spend far to much of my work week being serious. I think if I didn't spend some energy being silly I'd start to lose perspective - then what good would I be?

This poem was based on a conversation that 2 women were having, about toy men that grow in water and red wax lips they had when they were kids.

All the best
