2008-2009 Tour - US Dates - New CD

I know there is a lot of concern about whether or not there will be US dates but considering the the tour is named World Tour 2008-2009 (and Leonard would have agreed to that being put on his poster) does it really make sense that the tour would end with the announced dates in August 2008? That's a far cry from 2009!
The US can have a baseball playoff and call it the "World Series" at the exclusion of the rest of the planet so how could any tour that misses the US possibly be called a "World Tour"?
I suspect that the combination of fantastic ticket sales and continued good health will see many more concerts announced in the fall. Springsteen's tours often only announce the first 3 months but as they pick up steam they often last over a year.
Cohen's band members must have been either informed of, or contractual obligated to, the full possible scope of the tour's length which - as the poster shows - is 2009 (at least I'll tell myself that).
Another potential great outcome of this tour is taking this incredible lineup of musicians into the studio to record the next album after having played together for 4-? months. Leonard? Are you reading this?
