Hi all! I'll be traveling to Hamilton from New Jersey (USA) by car for the June 4 show in Hamilton and the June 6 show in Toronto. At some point in the travels, I'm going to see the Niagara Falls (yeah, I know, but I'm a tourist!).
I would greatly appreciate suggestions on where to stay in Hamilton, where to stay in Toronto, which town you would recommend for the 2nd night, what's fun to do, etc. Price is an object to some extent: I'd rather spend a little less on lodgings (but close enough to the venues to use public transportation or feet rather than the car) and more on food and drink, if possible.
Hopefully, some of us will meet up after the show and share stories. It will be a welcome change to talk with people who DON'T ask me "Who?" when I say I'm going to see Leonard Cohen in concert.

Are you a "bed and breakfast" type or more of a high-rise downtown hotel type person?
Also what kind of food do you like? Ethnic? High end dining or off-the beaten-path affordable.
I know a FANTASTIC Lebanese restaurant in Hamilton and a great little Mexican place there as well.
What else are you interested in besides Leonard? There's a cool butterfly conservatory nearby as well as a world renowned botanical gardens.
With the concert in June, there will be much going on ...it would help to know some of your other interests in order to make some recommendations.

Thanks so much: hopefully, the info will be useful to others as well. I don't care too much about the lodgings: clean, not too high off the ground, reasonably priced. If there are any to avoid, it would be cool to know that also. The main issue is ease of getting to the June 4 concert in Hamilton and, to stay in Toronto the night of the 6th for that night's show. As for food, off the beaten path affordable is always good. The Lebanese restaurant sounds perfect, and I would love it if there were a good seafood restaurant to go to.
I read about the botanical gardens, which I was definetly thinking abut visiting, but didn't know about the butterfly conservatory. I'd rather be outdoors than indoors, so both of these sound great. Without even knowing it, you hit on the things I"m interested in: it must be the Leonard Cohen link.
The info is greatly appreciated, and also, if anyone is interested in gathering after the June 4th concert, I'm up for that.
