Yes! Leonard is coming to Scotland! Is this an outdoor gig? Is it a large venue? hope there are enough tickets to go round!

Yeah it is a pretty decent size, wouldn't have been my first choice but I think it'll be a good one all the same. Now I just need to get tickets!

I can't believe it 5 minutes from my house!!
When do tickets go on sale for there?
I'd imagine it will be an outdoor gig, most gigs at the castle take place in the courtyard, if so there should be loads of tickets on sale as it can sit thousands, well thats if they build up the stands like they do for the military tattoo.
Word of warning for anyone coming DO NOT DRIVE in the city centre and leave plenty time, there is major road works for the next 3 years whilst they build a new tram system and most of the major roads in and around the castle/centre are either closed or down to one land which makes it impossible to get anywhere.
Anyone needing info on accomodation or travel, let me know, would hate for anyone to miss the gig because of it.

yes, when do the tickets go on sale for the edinburgh show - and is there a "pre-booking" period for fans? (i.e. before the touts buy them all and re-sell them at 3X the face value)

Wouldn't be my first choice of venue either. Was hoping for the intimacy of a venue like the armadillo. However, I cannot wait and may get tickets for manchester as well*

Yeah I was hopping for Glasgow as well but I suppose that Edinburgh Castle is a more prestigious place to play, only down side for me is having to venture through to Edinburgh which isn't my favourite city but it'll be worth it. Hopefully Glasgow will be in with a shout if more Scottish indoor dates are announced later on the year.

Thank god its not glasgow, sick of going through there for gigs and getting my wallet stolen (however Leonard at the Barra's would've been nice!)

Was hoping for the Armadillo as well as it's across the river from my work
But hey, can't moan - it's Scotland after all.

I much prefer to stand at gigs so I would love to see him at the Barras, if he does come to Glasgow I'm guessing it's more likely to be the Armadillo or maybe even the concert hall.

Standing at gigs is great if you wanna jump around, but for some artists I think its better to sit down, seen Damian Rice and was sitting down 3 rows from the front and it was brill, but standing still for 3 hours would've made me restless.
However, the Barra's is the best place in the world for a gig.
But to be honest I'm just glad hes coming to Scotland, travelling to Glasgow or Edinburgh regardless of your opinion of either city (queue east coast/west coast arguments!) is 10 times better than trying to get to London and paying for travel and hotel on top of a really expensive ticket (lets be honest £30 - £60 is still a lot of money for a ticket), you'd not get much change out of £200, not that I'm saying it wouldn't be worth it of course!!

Can anyone work out when Edinburgh tickets are going on sale and who it will be with? Just looked at Ticketmaster (as it says them on here) but they are only listing London and Dublin. Logged onto Edinburgh Castle's homepage and nothing there either. Would love to know as I could make this gig but if sales start Friday I've got a problem as I am on a train Friday morning

I've heard that all forum members get a pre-sale on tickets for all Cohen headline gigs, but not festivals.
Anyone have a price for this?

No, we have been told quite clearly elsewhere on here that not all gigs will have presales.

Does anyone know if you can pre-register with Ticketmaster? I'd hate to wait for the Edinburgh announcement and maybe miss out on Dublin meanwhile. 28 years is a long time to wait for your second concert!

I know the feeling tartan lass. I saw leonard at the Apollo in glasgow around 28 years ago and it is with
out a doubt the best gig I have been to ( and thats saying something ). I was looking at manchester but the opera house has no mention of the date yet either. An indoor venue appeals to me, still hoping he may do another gig in Scotland.
