I just want a place to tuck little poems or pieces of poems. Feel free to add if you wish.

Cinquain

Vow

submit
to your body
submit to my body
to the universal order
submit

(apologies to any militia offended by the word universal - :) )

Monday morning

You laugh at my love of mint, yet
who pulled on me
~~as I put paste on brush
who bent me over the sink
~~as I tried to brush while laughing
who filled my belly
~~by the time I spit
me thinks I'm not the only one
with a fondness for mint

Cate, I find your post to be offensive on two counts. "Pom" is a derogatory word for an Englishman, and "little" is heightist.

This is an interesting short poem Michael - I'm not sure what a pom is but as long as it is of consenting age - good for you! There's no need to be shy here we're all friends.

James so your poem would be

Pom - french word
for Englishman,
meaning potato head
and its not little
its big

Ohh, I see - that's what pom means. A poem that's also a definition very helpful.

haiku

alone in our sleep
my body moves as you breath
your hand over hip

Cinquain (same moment)

alone
sleep silent still
I'll warm your feet with mine
my body moving as you breath
for me

Tell me that I'm good,
...that you love me and will take care of me.
Don't smother me,
...let me run, but sleep close to me at night.

here I mourn this tiny form
skeleton: Neanderthal child
sunken holes in ashen bone
her teeth so large and wild

hi jimbo. I mourn the skeleton because even though she lived several thousand years ago, it was still the death of a child. And I was feeling a grand version of motherhood yesterday.

Manna, Iiked your 'grand version of motherhood'. I am thinking of skeletons today, how the act of dying can transform a living breathing person into a skeleton before they reach the grave.

ich sehe dich
enclosed in paper skin
laid out on a child’s bed

ich bin bei dir
our hands clasp tightly
the anguish of parting

Carol

Written quickly after reading Goethe, like the first verse better than the second.
