Just one week to Kracow and probably the end of this thread so can we make it 1000 post replies I wonder ?. That's six a day ! A tall order even by this thread's standard. Nine hundred and sixty posts in just short of eleven months not bad for an event that only lasted one weekend but whatever the final total is I would just like to say it has been great to be a part of both the initial weekend and the subsequent thread . Thankyou all !

Farewell to a thread

Nothing lasts forever
Nothing ever could
Now we say goodbye dear thread
We thought one day we would
Another thread is calling
It’s time to say goodbye
We knew this day would come my friends
And one day we would cry
It was a wild adventure
We gave it all we had
Postings that were funny
Postings that were sad
A time of joy to remember
A thread with nothing to hide
Just friendship fun and laughter
When we climbed that mountainside

Phil that's lovely. You are such a sweet man. And you were an essential part of the Barmouth experience, with your deadpan humour. Thanks for keeping this thread going for so long:-)

Hello dear Mambo:-) I hope you had a lovely day.

Happy Birthday!!xx.

henning

i've always thought that you have a very good sense of male fashion and style so can you please help me choose which bag i should bring to krakow......if you think neither bag is suitable for a man of my age i do have a barry manilow male handbag somewhere in my wardrobe which could bring along as a compromise....ta ken

...bernie glad to hear you enjoyed sligo....looks like henning isn't going to advise me over which bag i should take to krakow...but never mind our very own paul stubbs from zagreb posted up on facebook the perfect solution to my dilemma ......'take leonard and wear bob' was his brilliant solution...so not only can i now take both bags but i should be easily identified during the event and walking the streets of krakow.....ta ken

Yes Ken I am still on the 7.15 am flight on Thurs...

Bloody Hell Ken ! I must have fallen asleep at the computer writing you this reply and now it is Tuesday evening and the event has gone and I have missed it . But nevermind I had a wonderful dream that we all met up in Kracow and had a fantastic time drinking and talking until the wee small hours and Tinderella even bought me the drink she promised me . Sometimes these dreams can seem so real ! Oh well I will just wait for Joe to organise a great event in Madison

Farewell to a theatre

Nothing lasts forever
Nothing ever could
We say farewell to a theatre
We thought one day we would
Another one is calling
It’s time to say goodbye
We knew this day would come my friends
And one day we would cry
It was a fine old building
It gave us all it had
Performances so funny
Performances so sad
A time of joy to remember
A theatre with nothing to hide
Just friendship fun and laughter
Every time you stepped inside

Ken

Lovely as usual Phil.. It is sad to see theatres closing down. But as long as we have poetry here we do not need to go to the theatre that often.

Keep them comin' always Phil
