Oh, and yes, I'm really in Ithaca. I'm a Cornell student for another month or so, then I'll be working here at Cornell. Yee haw.

some will need to be ditched;
Even the Saints share someof their days.
Not any of the Goddesses or company, for G~ddess sake, just the poem incarnations... the lesser, more-similar-to-one-another versions. I like my Plan B better for that, anyway, though, of adding on more months to accommodate them.
If the attachment to
each incarnation is strong enough, however; Goddesses and company can begin to double up, taking their cue from the Saints... ad infinitum until all needs of Goddesses, company, and poems are met.

Okay, that'll do, Manna... by then, maybe I'll have figured out why September warrants a fight, too. I guess we could always have a photo of some torn and tattered Goddesses and company for that month, to add a bit of bowery interest. Greek Goddesses and company turned Bowery Babes and bums for September.
By the time you return, my vertigo may have disappeared, so it will be a better fit all the way around

. No one said I was able to follow I wrote

.
Sleep well.
Love,
Lizzy
Edit: Had to add the word Greek to Goddesses... it was in my head, but the print alliteration was off without it.

So damellon guessed write, yes? She is psy-chic, no?
"Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich."

Well, pardon the obtusity on September

... forget the bowery business.
Instead, I suggest that Goddesses and company dress in their burlesque best. Perhaps, the calendar could begin with September; since this year's Hydra calendar begins with October.
I know Goddess and goddette time tends toward the eternal; but, d'ya suppose the mortal means of marking by months might make the grade... or would everyone be suddenly born in September? This member of the Goddessess and company was born in February, so I'd be happy to occupy that spot. Would it be too good to be true if each found themselves naturally placed in the other 11? If there's already a September Goddess, goddette, or company, well fair's fair... if not, well Manna may be right and there may ensue a fight

. As Ungoddesslike as it may be. Hark, tho, t'wouldn't it be fairer still if Jarkko got September? The big question on that... to b'urlesque or not to b'urlesque.

I'm pressed for time and feel a bit like a withered maze what with this rash and all (no more laurel leaves, missy). Catch up later.
Night, girls.

Manna - Sorry, got overexcited cos I thought you were on the Ionian Island. By this morning I was planning to visit you next summer, invited or not. Lizzy - have you been drinking too? You have me overwhelmed with your ideas. Provided you contain yourself, I propose that you be elevated from a mere mortal to a demi-goddess. I have a list of appropriate mythological noms-de-plume, which I shall post soon. There's to be no squabbling about months. Have to go and earn a few euro in case the calendar idea comes to nothing. Back later.

Blonde Madonna - you're a great resource - thank you for those lovely lines about Ithaka. Feeling a bit of a literary underachiever in present company but can file a mean tax return if we ever need that.

Sorry about overwhelming you, too. I already made Manna pass out and it was all starting to get a little hazy for me, as well. I'm soberer today, though, so demi[moore]-goddess sounds good to me. Ah, never mind that... just give me a good mythological nom-de-plume and I'll be my own demi-goddess. Gotta keep my own signature in mind. I'm also rather drawn to the lack of expectation that comes with demi- status

.
There's to be no squabbling about months.
I agree. The last thing we need is torn paper. What a mess. Otherwise, we'll need to go to that cloth-y stuff they use in pre-school books for children

. Something would somehow be... lost. Surely, four Goddesses, a demi-goddess, and a Company can do better than that.
. . . but can file a mean tax return if we ever need that
I believe we may be needing exactly those skills with this, Damellon. I can see the orders pouring in now

... thank Zeus we have a great tax Goddess.

Just noticed...Blonde Madonna....have you dyed your hair? That looks like Tri-me at your feet. Are you leaving home? Aw, don't go. Not even to Ithaka. Has it all got too much for you? Were the aperitifs the last straw? Nothing happened after we left you on the deck, semi-comatose, blathering on and on about Leonard. Honestly. We can explain the state of the den....can't we Manna, Christine? What exactly did hubby tell you? Could you get him to PM me to tell me how to put those picture things there? No maybe better not.

I propose the calendar be printed on papyrus. I'll dress as the burlesque poem for September, if no one else wants it. Maybe I'm the only one. (Do I have this clear? Maybe I don't even know what the calendar will show.) Otherwise, if there is argument, I'll take some month in Spring. I like Spring. But I suppose September is Spring for some.
Feeling better today, but some of that cloud is permanent.

I know I won't hash about September. I'll take February, if that's possible. With global warming, Spring could be anywhere, anytime.
The papyrus plan sounds great, beautiful; but won't it show our wrinkles?
The Greek calendars that I've seen leave lots of flexibility, though, on our start and end dates. The pages of the one I 'recently' finished with started with September 2005 and ended with June 2007. One of those I got this year begins with October 2007 and ends with December 2008. I guess I missed the interim one covering July-September 2007 [or maybe it's available only to locals]. Or, perhaps, a mini-goddess was assigned the size-appropriate task and then missed the fast boat to the printer in Athens; and the ferry arrived after they were closed.
