Hi Paula, no I was just replying to Jarkko when he said that all venues will be new so I meant that Southampton hasn't been on the tour so far. Sorry to confuse.

WHAT? No concert dates for Berlin? Or Hamburg? This is madness. You HEAR me? MADNESS. Doesn’t AEG OWN the Berlin O2 World arena? Can’t they do a quick STOPOVER in Berlin on the route from Tours, France to Zagreb, Croatia? Am I not using ENOUGH capital letters? – Or are they still SULKING because the O2 World was not sold out the previous time?

March 19: Moscow, Russia, Kremlin Palace
I feel like I've just climbed aboard a magic carpet to even be reading this! The spheres of influence Leonard has developed through the universality of his songs is phenomenal! Oh, to be able to be there for this one! Unbelievable. Believable 8) .

WoW.

In 1968 I attended a ballet by the Bolshoi troupe (their usual home was in renovations) at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses. It was quite awesome. At intermission I remember being pummelled about by a few large Soviet women as I attempted to take the escalator up to the floor that was filled with cheap champagne and tons of food piled on tables. Of course, the "ordinary" citizen couldn't even afford to be at the ballet that evening. Walking through Red Square, and under the Kremlin Gate was a dizzyingly exciting experience for a very young Canadian girl. In fact everything in the USSR in 1968 was full of intrigue and things that were not exactly what they seemed to be. I was not a usual tourist....

However, to see Leonard in the same theatre from so long ago, would be a completion of sorts. As strange as it sounds, I don't know if I could do this....so many emotions. But, I might try. I love Leonard, and I have always loved Mother Russia.

On another more basic human level...Russia in March?? Bundle up everyone! If it isn't frozen, it's mud....

I'm just hoping that tickets to the concert in Moscow will be less than $1,000... It's somewhat par for the course there.

it all depends on the russian economy & exchange rates...first time in russia (1976?) a subway ride was five kopecks (100 kopecks=1 ruble=1US$; second time (1998 or so), subway ride was 1,500 rubles (inflation since 1976=20x1500%) tho don't remember the $=ruble exchange rate--if u go to moscow and haven't been to st. petersburg by all means go there also (tho watch out for the incredibly skilled pickpockets!)--at least for US citizens u have to get a $100 visa to go to Russia and get an official "invitation" from your hotel to get the visa--but st. pete is amazingly beautiful and moscow extremely interesting, if not pretty.

Moscow has been a very expensive city to visit for a while now. It starts with visas and end with hotels, but still very much worth the money (I think).

I lived in Moscow & St. Petersburg in the crazy early 1990s, my university years. That was when I discovered Leonard, and what a perfect place and time in history to discover him.

I haven't been back to Moscow since 1996 (although I was in Petersburg in 2003). I have to go, simply have to. I'm so excited.

I'll be there. Thank you Leonard.

Oh nooooooooooo...

Is South American really left behind????
 He has never come to Brazil and I guess most of you haven't either...How does it sound????
Imagine listening to Cohen's by the beach along with brazilians who have never had a chance to see him?!!!
I feel sooooo upset ... well...it seems that I'll have to work like a dog to buy a plane ticket for Europe....
When are all the places/dates going to be confirmed???? any ideas?

If you look at this page, viewtopic.php?f=44&t=19834&start=30, the message from tomsakic at the top of the page is quite promising for South America! :D

This is incredible. I was quite sick for a few days and when I visited the forum today I saw world tour 2010 and it took a few moments before it registered what this means. I just bought two tickets for Strasbourg, on the seating plan they look very good and guess what, it is the day after my birthday. What a very wonderful gift!
Happy greetings from Berlin, Christel

crystal,

i felt the same way about the tour and i too bought a ticket for strasbourg.

this year' s concert in berlin was three days before my birthday - so being there was some kind of birthday present for me.

i don' t know whether this is very likely to come,

but let' s hope for another show in berlin in 2010!

Maulwurf, indeed let's hope for Berlin or anywhere easy to travel to. (Budget allowing...)
