My fave photo is number 10. Those Germans are very good looking aren't they?

Phil, no need to hide when you see me, my saving tin full of 2 euro coins is very heavy now, so I will be well able to buy my own drink :)

Where is Ken these days? Anyone heard from him?

How many days now Phil?

How big is your tin . Dont forget about the weight restriction on the flight . You could post me some and I could bring it to Kracow for you. Lets see Kracow is somewhere in the Bahamas isn't it .

Our Ken is on his favourite Greek island just now, and has no means of communication with us.

Sorry to see Germany go out :( Good luck to Holland!

Ken text me from Shinouzza to assure me his Germany support. They even had a small TV for one of those matches. He will be back soon.

saturday afternoon
sitting in an internet cafe in naxos catching up with the world news on my long trek home.....spent all day today sailing from schinoussa hoping to be back in liverpool sometime late sunday evening.....as henning said we did have a very small portable tv on schinoussa for one night only...we set it up outside the baker's shop, for an audience of only about 6 people using an old set top aerial of sorts that somebody found in their shed.....we managed to watch most of one game through a blizzard of south african snow or it may have been interference before the whole thing just became impossible to watch.......with hardly any visible picture and the commentary being in greek i didn't have a clue what was going on...sad news is that i've only just found out reading this thread that germany is out......good luck holland.....by the time i get home tomorrow night it will all be over....thank god....
......tinders thanks for the photo of the long hall...happy memories indeed......

......only another 6 hour wait here in naxos before my ferry for piraeus arrives...then a sailing through the night to the mainland......then a 6 hour wait in athens airport for my flight home to liverpool via amsterdam....i'm getting too old for all this.........ta ken

HI Ken

Good to hear from ya.

Just watched the play off match. I bet on Germany to win 3 - 2.. but to have Ozil as the first scorer..... I would have won 300 euro for 2... ah well, i got it half right but did not win the money to buy you all drinks till 4am... sorry guys.

BTW.... i am not a gambler... i just work with a few guys that are football mad and do the odd bet :) :)

Hope Holland win the cup.

See you all very soon.

Dear Willy and Wijbe ~

I couldn't watch it, but I listened. I'm sorry that Holland didn't win. Spain barely did, but they did, and I guess it's time to congratulate them. It seemed an odd sort of game all the way around, according to the commentators on ESPN Radio. Apparently, once again, some questionable calls. Your players tried, but it just wasn't enough. I share your disappointment.

At the same time, for our Forum members from Spain, sincere CONGRATULATIONS on your first-ever World Cup Win!!! You did what you needed to do when you had to do it, and your World Cup path this year was impressive! I guess you won't be reading this for awhile [if at all], though, as you celebrate with your country's people. I'm glad that Nelson Mandela was able to be there for the closing. You deserve your joy!

Tinderella I also like the odd flutter !
. I have a system where as I always bet a few pounds on the country that is my holiday destination in in any world cup year . Just my luck I have been to Spain for the last three years . Which bright spark picked Poland for this years Leonard Cohen event .
I am not holidaying in England in 2014 that's for sure !
Bien Hecho Espana !
