I have always found these various rituals and sensory aspects to be integral to my overall experience and enjoyment of having a glass of wine (or two...): it becomes an event, a special occasion, something to savour. For me, pressing a spigot on a box completely fails to capture the magic of the moment, and thus drinking wine becomes as lacklustre as having a glass of water from the tap.
Of course, as "they" "say" these days, YMMV.
Now I can`t get Julie Andrews out of my head:
Corks in wine bottles and screw-tops to twist off,
Chateau Cardboard is leaving me pissed off,
Spigots in wine boxes won`t make me sing,
These are none of my favourite things.
Some people do drink wine directly from a box, but most pour it into a glass first.
However, for real excitement, try drinking directly from a bottle encased in a brown paper bag, while avoiding the guardians of the law. Maybe even give it a go while driving alongside a police car.

What is it with you guys? I most certainly do not share your apparent thrill of breaking the law: drugs and drinking while driving? Do you actually do these things, or are you just trying to sound "cool"? (Either way, it's really pathetic.). I've never been impressed by juvenile delinquents, let alone those who act/talk like them but are old enough to receive a pension.
Grow up, already -- and never drive under the influence, of drugs or alcohol!

I think our resident leagle egal has over-indulged on sticky toffee pudding on his birthday and has not yet recovered.

he is very busy. when i was with him last time there were criminals ringing him all time asking him to please get them off the hook.

I have just been watching a British TV program(me) in which a wig-wearing barrister appeared front & centre.
My dog (Roscoe), who normally barks at hairy critters on the telly, got really irate that this wild thing should appear on his screen!

I love this one, Geoffrey.
I won't ask you about the details that went into its creation because I wouldn`t understand, not being an artist.
I know what I like when I see it, and I see and I like this portrait.
