We have an apartment in Szeroka Street belonging to the Secret Garden hostel. I think it's quite close to the recommended hotels in Kazimierz.

Hi Tinders,

I know this photo was for Ken but it brought back great memories of the Dublin Concert in June 2008. Helen and I "stumbled" across this bar and visited it twice. Best pub we found in Dublin and great pint of Guinness. Really professional, gentlemen barman and the perfect (for us) atmosphere.
Just popped into this thread to say hello. Shame your not going to make it to Sligo, but enjoy your trip to Krakow.

Regards,
Scott & Helen

HI Scott and Helen

Lovely to see you on this thread. Glad you liked the photo and it brought you back good memories.

Don't think I will make it to Sligo but hope to see you both in Kracow

Best wishes from a warm and balmy Dublin

Awww Diane.... penalties are always a tough way to go out. Ghana did Africa proud. The nature of sport, winners and losers.

I felt sad about that, too. Apparently, their devastating loss was within the last few moments?

Ghana were the better side - but the Urus have great strikers who have also goalkeeping talents. I cheer with our Dutch friends who sent Brazil home. Are they sharing a plane with Argentine ? More about this in a few hours.

The English now have to cheer on Germany through gritted teeth so we can say we were knocked out by the world cup winners!

Thank you for those words of consolation last night, Tinds. I got so into that match. It would have been wonderful for Africa, had Ghana gone through.

Lizzy, Gyan very unfortunately missed a penalty for Ghana after a Uraguay hand ball close to the end of extra time. So it went to a penatly shoot-out. Even football can break your heart.

Phil, I do not want Germany to win! but then again, I do want Henning to be happy. Life's full of contradictions.

We`ll see if this is true this time , but in the past it wasn`t always true.Germany couldn`t have a win over Greece even.

I am in favour of cameras and instant replays. The game seems too fraught with slews of the errors of referees. Thanks for the explanation, Diane. Those overtime losses are even more heartrending [or joyous] depending on your alliance  [ :D ].
