You're probably right.

Thanks, Hartmut!
Now it's my turn to say anything strange - and:
ALDDLFS?
Please name the last letter.

I'm pretty sure we won't need more than 26 guesses ...

The last letter is "Z", of course. - Sorry, it took me so long.

It's a "J" - for "Joan".

Maybe I should explain, for people who are not as astute (and humble) as I:
"ALDDLFSJ" represents a list of famous singer-songwriters who have a connection of some sort to Leonard Cohen.
Aznavour, Charles
Lovett, Lyle
Dylan, Bob
de Burgh, Chris
Lightnin' Hopkins
Fogerty, John
Simone, Nina
Joan Baez

Another important common factor: All of them write songs about hate and love and stuff like that.

Ok, here's a more difficult one:
Which song deals with herbal refreshments as well as with small flies - but is called neither "Suzanne" nor "One of Us Cannot Be Wrong"?

Hi Hartmut,
I concede defeat on this Song Hunt question. Thought there could be a connection to Leonard Cohen's poet friend, mentor, and supporter Irving Layton. Why? Because Layton's poem "A Tall Man Executes A Jig" contains gnats, which are small flies. -- Considered "Go No More A-Roving," Byron's poem turned into song by Leonard Cohen and dedicated to Irving Layton. That was a dead end. ("Roving" with herbal tea in hand doesn't cut it, under ordinary circumstances.

) There may be a song whose creation was accompanied by the presence of small flies or an outdoor concert where the insects were pesky during a particular song performance. Such a song may not have anything to do with the question.

Hi Steven,
well, it is a difficult question.
On the other hand: maybe not really that difficult? - All you need is a song that contains the word "tea" and a word for flies (of the pesky variety).
More hints? Ok: Cohen co-wrote that song together with someone who then recorded it. There is also a cover version by a relatively well-known jazz singer that was released in the same year as the original version.

Well, Bev, you are very productive even in your breaks: Your answer is correct, of course.
I hope your book project is coming along well.
And thanks for the dance ... I mean: links.

Thanks Hartmut,
With my book, the more I do, the more there is to do! But I've done the ground work and it's taking shape for sure.
BTW I had just added the lyrics to Half The Perfect World so it was fresh in my mind!
As is this next song for you all to guess
It has a variety of visual images, including with and without clothes, religion and a bursting charge.

Just a quick guess: Is it "Everybody Knows"?
