So far, so good, with me, Jimbo. When you come across a restaurant named Mambo, you may want to reconsider ;-) .

Hi everyone who appeared in here.
At last some constructive critique
and some sarcasm thrown in for good measure
It all helps...
thanks Red poppy/Elizbeth for putting up my
side of things ,in my absense.
Iam trying to write seriously/but after mickey ones piece.
Ihave my doubts.CAN you give me somewhere else to go to ,to try and write
Maybe it is too elitist here for me?

regards jimbo

Jimbo, it would be great if you carried on writing. Clean up and check your spelling and grammar, I wouldn't be the only one to give up you early if you don't reach a very basic minimum standard. Check out for logical inconsistencies, check out for dull hackneyed phrases, take your time and of course you will improve. harsh criticism should inspire you to fight back.

over at Egoless (and probably some other proper poetry sites) you must never identify your own piece and you must always submit it namelessly. there, the only permissable response to a bad crit. is to say "thank you". tough love Jimbo but much more helpful than delusions and illusions.

this place is 5,000 miles due South of Elitist. so no worries there.

"Egoless" has been unavailable to me for at least a month. They say they're under repair and to check back in a few days, but they've never been there for me. In the meantime, there is emerging poets, where I go, there is something called bulldog poetry, which I have visited, and something I can't remember the name of (ain't I helpful?) where my old friend "Melicious" ended up. None of these is anoniferous. Some sites do stupid things like give rewards to people who write the most reviews in a day. This encourages people to write reviews like:

Wow! What a fun read, the imagery is so good, I am drooling. Your second line really caught my interest. And that ending... WHOA! Thanks so much!!! And then they copy/paste that into the spot after a thousand poems, and voila!

But emerging poets doesn't do that. Still, once people get to know you, you do get responses based on your humanity rather than your poem.

Glad to hear you're not leaving us Jimbo. Your threads have a tendency to get some really good discussions going. Keep it up.

Can't play the violin myself Jimbo. But I did once see somebody who could. Really, I did.
