OK, I plucked up the courage to revisit the photo and other than the iron disappearing, it hasn't changed. Byron, I really could have used some of Margaret's cognac tho'. Do you think she would have minded?

Damellon, if it's okay with you, can you please pop right over and ask your friend who has previous experience directing theater? I fear we might need all the help we can get. I'm getting stage fright just with the thought of it.

Now, if I'm to understand correctly, we have the selfless task of focusing just on ourselves and our vignette, is that right?

On another note, did anyone notice that it's mdidier's birthday on the Bd Index? I think he's 8 today.

Happy 8th, Marcel :) ... what a prodigy. First I've seen that function there. Is it new?

..Nice suggestion Lizzy re the Broadway/West End show but I think we shouldn’t be too ambitious until we’ve tested the market.
I hope to hear of a long, West End run; if not, nothing less than Gore-level success with your slideshow. Not that global warming had anything to do with your poem's origins; however, I am put in mind of Leonard's mention of a sunstroke on Hydra... and I'm not seeing a hat on that slightly balding head. The neckscarf might have helped...

I keep wanting to ask ~

Q: How many goddesses does it take to write a poem?
A: Four... with one goddette to get it started.

The official final looks 8) , Manna. Great going, Goddesses :D .

ok, off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the morning to perform "30 Years of Murder" but I might be able to try out a bit of the Burlesque thingy and let you know the reaction. Have you thought of making it humorous?

Yes 8 showing on his profile, but what's the Bd index, where is it and how does it work? Does it have my birthday?

Funny, I thought "20 Years of Boredom" would be more your style (knowing what I know of you, which is very little).
Just to be clear, that is a reference to your droll way with words, not an insult.

Damellon, I have noticed that at the bottom of the Board Index, where it tells you who is lurking around the board, it sometimes mentions a birthday. I guess you may pop up there if you have recorded your birth date in your profile. Linda_lakeside may know more because there are rumours that she has been abusing this birthday lark (just ask Diane).

While on the subject of the BI, I have wondered who google bot and yahoo bot are because they seem to hang around alot (but they haven't had birthdays to my knowledge).

Thank you for that Blonde Madonna. Hope your favourite day was good. Am researching Edinburgh Festival for 2008 and will advise. Meanwhile, let all Goddesses rest on their laurel leaves for a day or two.

Greetings goddesses. Much to report since we last conferred. Firstly, my contact the director is, I think, playing hard to get. Mailed him and he says he has something coming up with Penelope Cruz and I should talk to his agent! You know what that means - big bucks. I’m surprised at this mercenary turn, but maybe more’s the fool me. I thought if I made a personal approach he might relent somewhat, but I would have to go bearing gifts (as the Greeks do). Suggestions for inducements would be welcome.

Secondly, my research has shown that to get our vignette to the Fringe 2008 would involve an initial outlay of £1000 sterling. This covers advertising, inclusion in the programme and a rough estimate for the use of a venue. As you can see, I have not factored in accommodation, food, drink, costumes or the exorbitant cost of our director. Were we to dig deep into our own frazzled pockets that would breaks down to USD 505, AUD 590, and Manna since you are in the clouds somewhere, and since Aristophanes wrote a play called ‘Clouds’ I am basing you in Greece, therefore EUR 368 for you and me.

Ideas for fundraising are needed. I had thought something on the lines of Calendar Girls. I can only muster 10 of us as follows, 4 Goddesses, Byron, Lizzy, Dangermouse, our director (who cannot be named otherwise he might bill me), our Muse Mickey_One and his companion, the man in the shadows. Thought it would be diplomatic to invite Jarkko and if Diane would take the pics maybe she’d get in front of as well as behind the camera. What do you think?

Of course we could just forget the whole thing but personally this may be my last chance of immortality so I‘m tempted. Thoughts, preferably not profound …

Greece is fine with me. The place where clouds go to die is Ithaca, and Ithaca tends to think it is Greek for at least 3/4 of the year. But we love it here. It's a little creepy how much people love this town. If there were a nuclear holocaust tomorrow, Ithaca would be fine. We have our own dairy, our own bakery, our own brewery, and a whole mess of musicians, artists and smartypants. What else does a small town need?

Alas, I don't know what
our vignette to the Fringe 2008
means. I guess I don't follow all the threads around?

Manna - are you really in Ithaca?? Odysseus and Penelope. That would be so neat! Fringe 2008 is the side-show to the Edinburgh Festival.

To the Goddess in Charge ~ [I believe that would be you, Damellon, as you seem to have the connections and the game plan]

Will the calendar people dress up as burlesque poems, too? I've just done a quick perusal of pages 1-3 and have located at least 12 incarnations of said poem, though one may be the final poem, as well.

I got dizzy looking and had to stop... however, if a final count shows 13 or more, one incarnation per month could be printed beneath and to the left or right of the burlesque poem person of the month [preferably dressed to resemble their incarnation] for the standard 12 months... and, then, like the Greek calendars I've bought on Hydra and thematically consistent with the Greek Goddess underpinnings, the following year could begin all over again for as many months as there are poem incarnations, to give calendar holders time to purchase their new ones. It doesn't seem to matter at what point the year begins [at least from looking at my Hydra calendars]... that would be our personal choice.

At this point, the people named [as you no doubt know] total 12... so, if there are more than 12 incarnations, some will need to be ditched; or you'll need to add on people; or a group shot could be used for the finale, occurring in whichever month ends the process.

I think I could enjoy owning such a calendar and it would save plane fare, lodging, and food to the West End performance. If Fringe 2008 is a viable option, however, the calendars would be a rather clever and pragmatic program, don't you think? It could be included it with the price of the show [which due to increased printing costs, may need to be increased just a tad]. The calendar's onset would, of course, in that case, coincide with the month in which the World Debut occurs. Showgoers could become so attached to this concept work, that it could become an annual tradition. Shows could occur during different times of the year... the summer poem, fall poem, winter poem, and spring poem.

I also feel I would enjoy being part of such an endeavour.

I'll meet you there.

Lizzy! I'm shocked. How could you?! Even the Saints share someof their days. But I think we may end up fighting over September, eh?

Oh, I've had too much vino for one nite. Two whole glasses, and I've had to edit these three sentences here about 48 times.
