So many have posted their feelings, reviews, photos and videos that there isn't much left to cover....except...

Las Vegas (and later San Jose) will always hold a place in my heart, not only because of Leonard, but because of each one of you! Leslie and Maarten, thank you for sticking with me and encouraging me when sometimes things weren't exactly coming together for the dinner. It was wonderful to work with you over the computer and phone calls, but even more fun when were able to meet in person! Maarten - your nametags and lanyards are works of art and like so many others have said, I will treasure mine forever. Les - the green glo lights were perfect! Thanks for all your co-ordinating when it came to shipping them etc..

I loved the 2 1/2 hours that Marie (IrishMar), Leslie and I spent sipping capuccino's outside of the patisserie in Caesars...non-stop talking, and of course touching Marie's hand :D The dinner was fun, as was the after dinner get together in the Seahorse Bar! So many wonderful old and new LC friends...MaryB and George, MarieM, Marsha, Mary Mollydog, wonderful Arlene, Denise, Bonnie, Nico, Novabella, Lisa, Vlasta, Conny, Birgit, Roman, Jayne, Wendy and Tony, Dar, Graham, Philippe, Patricia (grannypoe) and the lovely Ann! Great to finally meet Doug and John from Utah who couldn't stay for Red Rocks! So interesting to talk with Michael about trekking and the Himalayas! And of course Jarkko (our high prince of Cohendom!) and Eija, and Dick and Linda!! Loved running into Rafael in the hallway about 110am :D ;-) Breakfast the next morning was another lengthy affair with Les, Marie and MarieM...so much to talk about and share! Followed later by the welcome arrival of Albert Noonan...hurray!

The concert was perfection as always with the added excitement of the 2 new songs! Love the bluesy sound and Leonard's guitar work! Also loved the intro to Chelsea hotel.... Great to meet up with some band members before the concert. My first time to meet Dino! Loved Roscoe's new haircut...verrry nice!

Seahorse Bar again and then up early in the morning for our shuttle to the airport (thank you Arlene!). Singing Happy Birthday to Maarten! The Southwest flight attendant welcoming all the Leonard Cohen Forum fans on the flight to San Jose! Then the hydraulic leak...off the plane...and waiting patiently (see Jarkko...we have learned from you!) for the new aircraft!

Thank you all for your warmth, intelligence, and sense of humour! :D

ps..one more thought. Although I once lived in Vegas for 8 years, I don't like the city and would never have been there if not for Leonard. Nothing is real. But Leonard, the band, and all of us with our passionate hearts were real, and that's what counted!

Well, Vegas was definitely one of the weirdest places I have ever been in my life. It is kind of an abomination devoted to the cult of money so I am very glad that I was able to go there and see it while going to a fabulous concert! I had a really wonderful time meeting up with fabulous old friends that I adore. (It was great to be able to finally make it to see you, Jarkko! i seem to keep promising and then cancelling.) It was wonderful to be introduced to so many great new people. We had so much fun drinking at the Seahorse Bar! Thanks to Dar for being a fun companion and for her gambling lessons and to Maarten for being the best roommate anyone could ever dream of!

All the best,
Anne

Just a quick posting from me as I just got home from Vegas this evening after a nightmare of a journey which ended with me arriving home 9 hours later than scheduled!
I just wanted to say that it was lovely to meet you all, as brief as it was, as my time was limited due to jet lag and family commitments. And thanks to those who organised everything - you all did an amazing job. I havnt had time yet to read all the postings or look at any videos etc. but hopefully when I find a spare minute I will.
As per usual, the concert was outstanding and I am still buzzing from sitting in those fantastic seats - I couldnt have asked for better!
Ok, am hanging here so must go to my bed. Hope this finds you all well my friends
PP x :D

Here are the rest of my Las Vegas videos.

I was fortunate to have a front row seat for the second half after a lady offered to switch with me during the interval. Her name was "Audrie" and she was sitting with her son in the first row. They are Forum members, but don't really post. And they have gone to a lot of LC concerts. I wrote down their names to thank them on the Forum, but, I am unable to find my note. Audrie, If either of you is reading this, would you please send me a PM with your names so I can thank you formally.

The position of the front row seat made for an excellent view of Neil Larsen and Rosoe Beck. I tried to keep both in the frame while I was shooting because I never had this vantage at other concerts. Because I was so close to the stage and my camera lens coud not open wide enough to capture the whole stage, these videos are basically close-ups.

Some highlights that I can remember
First concert appearance by Roscoe, "The Kid Is Back", Beck's new sexy haircut.
Being able to watch the talented virtuosity of Neil Larsen at length. What a delight!
LC's "shining, impossible belt buckle" (Tennessean)

TAKE THIS WALTZ
Lovely duet LC and Hattie at 3.48
Intros at the end, Dino applauds Javier Mas

HALLELUJAH
"I did not come to the Palace of Caesar to fool you" 3.52

CLOSING TIME
Good view of Roscoe with his ooh-la-la forelock

I TRIED TO LEAVE YOU, FINAL WORDS
My apologies, I had a few dry desert coughs towards the end but I did not want to stop filming. All the solos were so incredible! And LC's final words were simple but moving.

It was an awesome concert.
