Diana, Leslie, donalagata, Mary, Sharon,
Thank you all! You ladies are too funny.
Diana - He definitely did not look tired in person. Maybe the loosening of his tie was his way of letting 'er rip. After all, it was late and his time to turn in.
Leslie - Didn't think it was relevant to focus on me in the presence of him. Did touch on Fred.
*Mary - Haven't seen Fred in a long time.
*LC - (turning to Roscoe) Who?
*Roscoe - The monkey.
*LC - (with a look of recognition and a big grin) Oh.
And the conversation re: Fred continued..............
donalagata -The location involved some logic. Being a member of this forum and faithfully reading all the new posts has its definite advantages. Thankfully, it panned out. The fortunate was that 'he' was there. What are the odds

?
Mary - Gee, by the time I got to your post, am I going to have an entourage ala LC

?
Sharon - You are in for the ride of your life tonight!
Warmest regards to all!
Mary (the other one

)

As Ann said here about George,
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=15910&st=0&sk=t&sd ... 40#p201951, and anyone who has met George, knows it was because of him that everything was so normal.
I know, I'm married to George

!
Thank you all!
Warmest regards,
Mary

True, Mary, true! You are both very lucky people... Two other male Leonard fans I know with whom I imagine a meeting with the man himself to go equally smoothly for their respective lady companions are IrishAl and Greg, by the way. Ah, well, and Jarkko of course, but that is different...

Wowzer Mary! You go girl.
If anyone deserved to meet YOU, it's Leonard, He is a very lucky man. With that winning smile, those gorgeous eyes and that great sense of humour

He must have walked away feeling great.
Absolutely gorgeous photos.
Why didn't you ask me to go and not look for him in Barcelona with you ?
Come back to Europe next year Mr Cohen, just so I can go find you with the fabulous Mary.

I remember well George's remarks about Leonard in the Gaudi Parc. I think Leonard was just curious to know who that guy is who doesn't fancy him that much. The one who asked "will you marry me Mary ? I promise you heaven on earth or, if that is not your lot, a meetup with LC" and he did keep his word. The trick is as simple, just pretend that you don't give a damn about a distalented jewish singer. That's when he shows up at you to ask why that is. I did it once with Bob Mumbler in Wetzlar and it worked the same way. OMG, I almost did not get rid off him. Famous guys can be so whiny about one "lost" soul in the crowd.

Well, I never thought this day would come but it is my turn to add to this thread.
Last night's concert in Durham was mind-blowing, but my wife and I ran into some severe logistical complications which caused her to miss the concert (I went with a friend instead) and forced us to delay our departure by a day. So here we are, in Durham, with a day to kill and deeply disappointed about her missing the concert and then she said: "I bet Leonard and the band are staying at that hotel downtown, let's take the kids there for breakfast and maybe we will see them". And so we did. We sat down for breakfast and soon spotted at least two other tables with fans on the lookout. After about an hour and a half they all left, but we decided to stick around for just a bit longer. I took my son to walk around the lobby (it's hard to sit still for hours when you're three years old) and on our way back to the table I spotted Joey Carenza at the reception desk doing some paperwork. At this point it became clear that we were not leaving without seeing the man. We took the kids outside to the front of the hotel and camped there for another hour with a small contingent of two other rabid fans. Then Dino Soldo came out to the lobby, and since he was one of the band members I did not get to meet the night before I went over to ask for an autograph and a photo-op which he granted happily, we chatted for a minute and I went back outside. The other band members walked by and we wished them a safe trip and thanked them for the concert. I got another autograph (from Raphael). Then it happened, the man himself came to the door. He was gracious and generous with his time, signed my copy of "Book of Longing" and allowed us to take pictures. Another fan asked him to sign her "Live in London" CD and he took the time to find a silver marker in his suitcase to sign the dark CD cover. I said "Thank you for last night and for so many years of music", he smiled and said "Thank you friends" and then he got on the bus with his guitar and his suitcase leaving us amazed and grateful (and me shaking a little bit).
