I really hope it isn't a toe nail. No one would keep a toe nail as a memento...surely not???!!!
I bet there are two bad toe nails in the box and then you have a MATCH !( Sorry I couldn't resist!)

congratulations tinders you have guessed correctly.....it is indeed the nail from my right big toe...damaged last september whilst being frog marched up cadair idris and mount snowdon by our raven haired mistress of the mountains.... joe and anne warned me at the time that i would have to endure months of pain before it would finally drop off......and boy were they right....it eventually dropped off on February 3rd. 2010

i guess then you wouldn't be interested in the sebaceous cyst that i have tucked away in my memory box.....although after all the years that have past since i had it removed it's now looking more like a piece of withered and dried up piece of fruit rather the beautiful moist and drippy cyst it once was...happy memories.........
tinders i shall pm you for your postal address after i've had my brekky

That is horrible, Ken! Please don't post it to Tinders.
But you must have been in a lot of pain on the mountains to damage your nail so badly that it fell off. You were very stoic about it - I couldn't tell. You should have swapped footwear with Pete.

Hi Tinders
I know you have become a huge Berlin and Germany fan since you visited here in 2008 for the LC show.
Your money is well placed as Yogi has nominated a real goalkeeper for the match today
Just share a bit of the profit with us in Krakow.
As I receive first hand information from the Event team I know that a version of Bird on the Wire based on Vuvuzelas only will initiate the Tony Palmer DVD premiere.

I hate those Vu vu things... i think they down out all the real atmosphere.
Well Henning if Germany win the World Cup, of course I will treat all my friends to a drink in Kracow.
I read that the local beer there tastes like horses urine ( not that I ever tasted that ) but the vodka got a great review.
ONly 8 weeks now

Congratulations Bernie! I am sure that the artwork on the cd alone is worth enduring the sight of Ken's errant toe nail. Ken, that must have given you great pain for all those months-we hope the new skin for the old ceremony of walking up mountains treats you better.
Well, we have booked our flights now for Europe this summer. We leave on Sunday, July 25th and will arrive the next day in Munich. I understand that the train leaves every hour for Salzburg so we should be there in plenty of time for the meet-up and concert. We'll be wandering around in various parts of central Europe until making our way to Krakow and then back to Munich by August 11th.
I received good news this week that the hole in my retina has closed thus giving us the confidence to book our flights. Now I just have to keep it closed this time so I am still on many restrictions until the middle of July. Anne has long since abandoned treating me with any consideration that my delicate condition would warrant, so I shall continue to try to toughen up and be fully self-sufficient by the time we arrive in Europe.
Looking forward to seeing many of you soon!
Joe
P. S. Anne & I went to see The Handsome Family last night here in Madison and I was able to speak with Rennie Sparks and remember the great time we had at the Leonard Cohen tribute concert back in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. It was Brett & Rennie's 22nd wedding anniversary.

Hey Phil
we need more of your kind who jump on our train for a few things for free. To use tanks and bombs was a stupid idea.

Joe, I saw the Handsome Family many times and once they had an inflatable snowman on the stage and they asked me to take it home and care for it till they came back to Ireland, which i did lol. Brett has such a powerful voice and i love their dark lyrics.
Great news about your eye.
Henning, that was a fantastic match last night... I think i will be buying a few drinks in Kracow after all. Well done Germany
Ken, look forward to my prize dropping in my letterbox soon.
by the way Ken
why dont you try
to do without it
why dont you try to let it go
do you really need, as a memory
a piece of your dead toe.

I used to have one of those before I met my lovely Jean but it wasn't a snowman
