.. I can't sleep, Queen Cate.. (and am hoping you didn't put another pea under my mattresses)..

.. anyway, I've been thinking today that since Sir F. is on sabbatical, as it were, and Lady Kissy K. is busy with things, as is the king.. that it would be a good time for me to take a trip to a far off castle for a while.. I suppose I could always click my ruby slippers together if I ever need to get back here.. if this place will still even be here, that is..

.. anyway, sometimes I think the difference between artists and "normal" people, so called.. is that artists tend to get lost in public.. while most try to hide the fact of their being lost.. and while I know I have allowed myself to a fairly large extent to get lost here on this thread, I have done it knowingly.. and also with the consideration that, well, a certain other party would be alright with it, and possibly even understand.. so.. it's not been without reflection..

.. still.. as there is no real discourse here, in a sense, it's difficult to really see what one is doing sometimes.. I think too I have something of an absurdist sensibility.. combined with total sincerity.. gosh.. no wonder I'm usually misunderstood.. you know, I've been realizing today that quite possibly I'm the only one who finds anything I do here even remotely funny (!!).. and actually, the thought of that made me laugh (!!!)..

.. anyway.. I'm rambling, and can't think what else to add here..

Dear SPV(f)

You are certainly not the only person who finds what you do here funny!...I think you are extremely entertaining...And have brightened my day on numerous occasions.

Love all those clips you find (G-d knows where from sometimes, or how you find the time).

I must admit I have been rather remiss in my Lady in waiting duties of late, I have been a somewhat distracted,(you know how that can be)...But if you pull that big cord in the corner of the tower, it has a direct link to my chamber and I will available at all times (the King makes use of this frequently).

Oh and I have to admit at taking a sneaky look at those letters to his Lordship, that you so eloquently write...(quite look forward to them actually)...I must say you have the patience of a saint...I would have kicked him to the kerb a long time ago!!!!

Make sure you keep those ruby slippers at hand...they are always useful (I could have done with them myself on numerous occasions).

how did I miss your post this morning my - Violet can't sleep radar must be down :) which is the shame because sleep deprivation is a great catalyst for interesting conversation - of course it seldom makes any sense.

I hope by know you know that I find you funny and fun, entertaining and exciting. You have a wonderful imagination are sensitive and seem to be able to toss a few words around together pretty well - now if you don't know this then I had better report to I.F. for a good beating for not telling you sooner.

- - -
.. hmm.. only problem is.. I'm pretty sure that's his Lordship..

ohhh well then that's a good thing then as he wishes to Marry you
boy you've gotten pretty good at playing hard to get!

so the prince, although in the last song was talking about winning, decides to go to the princess and tell her his name - leaving his fate to her (you see if she gets his name right he will be slaughtered - if she does not know the name the people of the town will be slaughtered). The princess is very touched by this as her fear has been that a man would impose himself/control
... when dawn comes the queen comes out to announce that she DOES know this mans name
.......it is love ......and then they kiss xxxxx

.. Cate.. I missed the addition to your post.. so.. will respond in a moment..

.. here's what I had initially, at least:

.. hi Karren and Cate.. thank you both for your kind words, it really does help.. there is a, uh, certain time of the month (at least for me) where what you thought might be a problem brewing somewhere inside you comes out in far more extreme a form than should be allowed, I think.. but who ever said that life or hormones were fair?.. anyway.. I'm here.. up in my tower.. even when I'm silent, I'm still here.. mulling..
.. oh, and Lady Kissy K., I don't have the time usually.. the only reason I have the time is this wonderful word -- or is it a place, in fact: procrastination. It's where artists and writers go when they should be doing their work.. I've heard Leonard was a great procrastinator too.. though I believe his current schedule would preclude such a decadent pass time..
.. as for his Lordship.. well.. from where I sit, it is he who has the patience of a saint, actually.. I mean, even from afar, I'm hardly an easy muse-ee (or do I mean, muse-er?), as it were.. anyway, he's been lovely, I think.. and if I were to say more, I'd probably start sobbing.. so I won't..
.. so.. I guess I'll just play things by ear.. I'm imagining this is going to be a rough week for me, but then hopefully at least the hormonal clouds will clear, leaving just the usual clouds, I guess.. the ones that come and go.. and there are those wonderful clear days.. like when you were house sitting, Lady K.. and all seemed so right with the world.. and how kind a God must we be in the presence of then..

.. 'til soon,
s.p.v. (fl.).. xx x

.. edits: this muse, muse-ee, muse-er business is still confusing me..

.. yes.. I can imagine his Lordship and I in those get-ups exactly [??].. in a snug little restaurant late at night in Chelsea (either city will do probably).. and the owners can hang us on the ceiling as very trendy chandeliers if we stay too long.. and of course, we will stay too long, since it would be very cumbersome even just trying to find one's cutlery while wearing those things.. might be hard to get too cozy too, come to think of it.. SO.. like everything else in this world, it would take some practice.. practice to perfect such an operatic lifestyle.. and yet.. well worth the effort, I would imagine.. especially when one finally figures out what your lover has been exclaiming to you so passionately in Italian all this time.. I mean, that alone, would make it all worth while no doubt.. (!!)
.. thanks Cate and Karren for cheering me up a bit.. oh, and thank you, my Lordship, for letting me get you all done up like that.. (we'll wear sleeker clothes underneath.. and let them hang just the costumes instead -- as chandeliers, I mean)..
my love to everyone,
v i o l e t xx x

That's wishful thinking violet!

About these outfits!...
You know that real passionate feeling you get, when you just want to rip each others clothes off...How bloody long would it take you in that get up??????

.. well, you see, Lady Kissy K.. this goes way back for me, as far as training goes.. I mean, already I've been tearing off barristers' robes 'n wigs 'n things.. (not to mention other unmentionable garments) for a long long time now.. and.. well, yes.. this might present a few extra gadgets 'n things.. the hats alone would require some coordination to handle properly no doubt.. actually, it's rather like graduating from the minor leagues, costume wise, to the majors.. and I'm just now realizing that the pay off is probably far greater.. I mean, having struggled through the satinie labyrinthine folds of operatic impediments to one's frantically escalating desire.. [yes, it did take a minute or two to formulate that last sentence, even if it didn't quite come out all that pretty sounding]..

Dear SPV (f)

Those unmentionables wouldn't have been pink would they????
I mean, having struggled through the satinie labyrinthine folds of operatic impediments to one's frantically escalating desire
very impressed...it says it all!
[yes, it did take a minute or two to formulate that last sentence,
Before I got to read that bit, i'd already thought it...

Violet, I'd like a fraction of your imagination and your expressiveness...

.. oh, thank you, Kissy K.. I still haven't come up with a way to describe your sense of humor, and wonderful word play (by the way).. but when I arrive at that concoction, I shall share.. [xx]..

.. well.. it's the end of a beautiful afternoon here upstate, where it's unaccountably cool and sunny and breezy, given all the record breaking heat and humidity we've been having lately.. I'm thinking to go out in the tall grasses at the back of the yard, under the apple tree.. and take Beautiful Losers with me, and get lost with Catherine Tekakwitha for a while.. so.. if any of you are looking for me up in my tower, you'll see I've escaped for a few.. (luckily the queen forgot to take the ladder away, since the steps are still quite treacherous)..

signed,
the princess (in convalescence)..

My dearest Lordship,
.. (oh, by the way, readers/viewers.. this is extremely PRIVATE..
.. so please show some respect here).. Now, my dearest, I’m
taking just a little break from some things I’ve been doing
up here today.. and it just came to me the sort of dream I
had of you last night.. Of course, I’m usually not a blonde in
my dreams, but I guess for you, I’ve made an exception.. in
any case, I’m finally realizing it was you, actually, who brought
my groceries in.. (couldn’t remember for the longest time
who it was).. but yes.. I’m remembering now..
