Weather report
as sung by Judy Collins

Rolls and flows of angel hair, ice cream castles in the air,
feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain, they snow on everyone.
So many things I would've done but clouds got in my way.
I've looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down and still somehow, it’s clouds’ illusions I recall, I really don't know clouds at all.

I'm surprized it took so long for Judy Collins's song to appear [that oversight, of course, includes me  ]. Neil Sedaka sure painted an appealing picture with his words :D ~ where's a swoon emoticon when you need one.

I'll say the lyrics paint an appealing picture! I've never been a fan of Judy or that song, for whatever reason, but reading just the lyrics is fabulous.

Rob,

And I wonder,
I why, why, why, why, wonder
Why, that song rings such a bell?

Had to think of things other than bombs and e-mails I am waiting for so here is what came into my head today, excuse the mistakes in the lyrics I am not googling:

Weather report George Harrison
When the sun somes they run into the shade
And sip their lemonade

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun di di do do
Here comes the sun, It's allright. Miss you George

Ringo Starr
We would be warm below the storm
No one there to tell us what to do

Pogues I won't go into Christmas songs
They've got cars long as bars
They've got rivers of gold
But the wind blows right through you
It's no place for the old.
When you first took my hand on that cold Christmas Eve
You told me that Broadway was waiting for me

Gordon Lightfoot
In the early morning rain dododo dod oodod
Well I must be on my way in the early morning rain

Pussy willows cat tails soft wind and roses.
someting something something water on my kness
Quivering shivering the soft breath of spring

Don't know who sang this
I'm walking on sunshine
I'm walking on sunshine
and don't it feel good

Phil Collins
I was standing in the rain for hours
You were late

Don't know who sang this
Well, it never rains in Southern California
It never rains in California the girls don't they warn you
It pours.....

Gino Vanelli this might be a stretch, but he's Gino
Don't let the sun go down on me....

Don't know who sang this
Like walking in the rain and the snow
And there's nowhere to go....

OK I'm done....hope everyone in London is safe.....my heart is there, my dad grew up in New Cross.

( as written/sung by Brian Wilson)

What good is the dawn
that grows into day
the sunset at night
or living this way?

The night after JFK was assasinated, Brian Wilson went into a studio and wrote/recorded the song "The Warmth of the Sun".

Ccr - Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm,
I know!
It's been comin' for sometime.
When it's over so they say
It'll rain on a sunny day,
I know!
Shining down like water!

I wanna know: have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know: have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day

Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hot,
I know!
Been that way for all my time.
Till forever on it goes
Thru the circle fast and slow,
I know
It can't stop I wonder!

I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

YEAHHHHH!

I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Weather report
as read by Billy Connelly

"Theres no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong kind of clothes"

Tri-me,
I'm walking on sunshine-Katrina and the waves
It never rains in califonia-Albert hammond
I don't know the other one.

There was a Russian couple walking through Moscow. The man felt something on his nose and says to his wife, "I think it's raining". His wife replies "No, its snowing". And as these things happen, they started arguing about whether it was raining or snowing. The man saw a minor communist party official approaching, and asked "comrade Rudolf, is it officially raining or snowing"?
"Raining" said the official, and went on his way.
"I still think its snowing" said the woman, to which her husband replied,
"Rudlof the red knows rain, dear"

Led Zepplin Rian Song

These are the seasons of emotion
And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion-
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient-
Upon us all a little rain
Must fall.
Just a little rain?
Ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

Weather report
Carole King Rain Until September

What shall I write?
What can I say?
How can I tell you how much I miss you?

The weather here has been as nice as it can be
Althought it doesn't really matter much to me
For all the fun I'll have while you're so far away
It might as well rain until September

I don't need sunny skies for thing I like to do
'Cause I stay home the whole day long and think of you
As far as I'm concerned each day's a rainy day
So It might as well rain until September

My friends look forward to their picnics on the beach
Yes everybody loves the summertime
But you know darling while your arms are out of reach
The summer isn'[t any friend of mine

It doesn't matter whethee skies are grey or blue
It's raining in my heart 'cause I can't be with you
I'm only living for the day you're home to stay
So It might as well rain until September
September, September, oh
It might as well rain until September

Weather report
Vernon Duke (you can feel the weather in this song, a classic)

It’s time to end my holiday and bid the country a hasty farewell.
So on this gray and melancholy day, I’ll move to a manhattan hotel.
I’ll dispose of my rose-colored chattels and prepare for my share of adventures and battles,
Here on the twenty-seventh floor looking down on the city I hate and adore!
Autumn in new york, why does it seem so inviting?
Autumn in new york, it spells the thrill of first-nighting.
Glittering crowds and shimmering clouds in canyons of steel; they’re making me feel I’m home.
It’s autumn in new york that brings the promise of new love. autumn in new
York is often mingled with pain.
Dreamers with empty hands may sigh for exotic lands;
It’s autumn in new york;
It’s good to live again.

Quite a clever so-and-so, that Rob.
He's pROBably a Celt. :D :D :D
Or maybe he's just getting old, and therefore has more to remember: just like me :)
Andrew.

Tri-me, George Harrison wrote and sung "Here Comes The Sun", but the lyric you quoted prior to that came from "Rain" (the B side of "Paperback Writer".) John sang that one.

my face in the rain
I walk all alone
it's Sunday
time is slow
I'm happy
that is all I know
my face in the sun
my life is my own
it's Sunday
time is slow
I am happy
that is all I know
my thoughts in the rain
I walk all alone
it's Sunday
time is slow
I am happy
that is all I know

A dramatic change in 'tempo', here. Sorry.

The Weather Report
as read by Billie Holiday

Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter cry.
