Alas, not Leonard. The usual Webbs version.

ha I feel the same. I love the webbs version, but I am saddened it has become their song now, and we will most likely never hear leonard sing it again. It's such a personal song, it used to be the highlight of the set for me when he sung it back in the 80s

Cheers Mabeanie,i like the Webb sisters version but id like to hear Lenny do it again(thought that since theyd already sang one and it was second last song of the night he might have done it)......though having said that id like to hear Lenny do any song again,im hoping he swings round our way again next year when i have more money

The Guests at soundcheck Sep 11th. Obviously grotty recording but it really was beautiful and I do hope that this moves to actually being played soon.... Joan of Arc was also being rehearsed....you just never know.

I wonder do requests work, like on the radio? If we requested the Guests and Joan of Arc would somebody pass on the request? Would love to hear them and would also love to hear Lady Midnight live. I could die happy then and join Cobain in an LC heaven.

Wow . He has done a few rare ( in performance terms) songs at soundchecks which i suspect he won't do in the actual concerts .Poor recording but through the' haze' this sounds great

I guess that the photo of the rainbow over the stage proves that there is indeed gold at the end of the rainbow.
I cannot add much to what has been said and agree with most of it. It was very cold on Tuesday but I wrapped
up a bit better for Wednesday.
I too get irritated by people in constant flow to the bar. I know people want to 'enjoy' themselves but surely
someone can sit for a couple of hours without overpriced beer.
If you are a true fan the music should be intoxicating enough for a few hours.
Wednesday was my 20th show (can't wait for 21st and 22nd over the next few nights).
I was enthralled as always and his melancholy ditties were a help to me after the recent passing of my mother.
I was able to get lost in the music for just under three and a half hours per show.
The musicianship of this group of people is just mind blowing. It is a pleasure to sit and listen to them perform.
I have seen U2, Tina Turner etc perform wonderful shows multiple times but Leonard plays second fiddle to nobody.
We have all heard the comments about his music, but I always say that the only people that ever complain about
a Leonard Cohen concert are those who have never attended one.
Enjoy the remaing two shows - what am I talking about - of course you will.

Such an amazing concert performance from Leonard and his band! It was really nice to share this occasion with my family (14 of us!), ranging from our sixties down to our twenties and every minute loved by all (also attended by our great President Michael D Higgins - clearly has great taste!).
Leonard started right on time with DMTTEOL followed by a great selection of his classics mixed in with some of his new material (which also just sounds instantly classic - such is this man and his bands skill).
The evening was chilly but Leonard (the old charmer!) reminded us how warm the Irish are, and together with our many friends from abroad who came to see him here, we all remained enthralled for the night.
Thank you so much Leonard and your wonderful band, we look forward to our next rendezvous!

I don't see the point of going to a gig and then taking endless, usually substandard, pictures. Can anyone explain?

I much preferred Wednesday nights concert to Tuesdays. The Sound was better, Leonard was in better form and the crowd were less disruptive.
Video conditions were more challenging due to the constant state of change of the number of people actually in their seats...or somebody else's seats...or somewhere in between.!
So Long Marianne the Irish just have to sing along to this one...

video is a bit blurry at the beginning but settles down...

Pictures whether still or moving are precious.
As a memory aid , a historical document , and to share with others?
