Ute,
This is definitely the most original and funny wish list and I'm so impressed by your poetic abilities !
I have just one small request : could you add poor Joan and her smokey life to your list ?

Ute, your plea is brilliant. I am just putting forward my usual one - One of Us Cannot Be Wrong.

Extremely unlikely I know, but I would love love love to hear 'Love Calls You By Your Name' performed live, and with Leonard's deeper smokey voice I bet it would sound spectacular. Expect I'll just have to stick to the fantasy in my head ;-)

Oh yes,and I bet the band could do something with Do I Have To Dance All Night?

Yes please, that would be great ! It could replace "I tried to leave you" at the end, sending everyone home really buzzing !

'Snap'
ALWAYS must be Leonard's quickest long song. The clock says 8min+ but measured by heart time, it's over in a trice.
Once is not enough. Every time we play it, we have to repeat it at least once.

The last song of his encore????? How stunning to send all the lovers in the audience home with "I'll be loving you.... " ringing in our ears. ...not for just a shakedown in the shower......

Hope he sings it for you in Basel too.

Kerry and Chris

Rehearsals have started and we are less than three weeks from the start of the 2010 tour that takes in Australia and NZ! Perhaps a good time for me to repeat my wish for him to bring back 'Hey, thats no way to say goodbye'. It was such a highlight for me and I love it on the London DVD. 'The Guests' would be great to see also.
But really anything with Leonard playing guitar is good for me. He likes to joke that he 'only has one chop' but I think he is being modest! The songs with him playing all stand out. So don't touch Gypsy Wife, Suzanne, or Sisters of Mercy! Also I love the Webb Sisters doing 'If it Be Your Will'. My family are coming to the Auckland show which will be their first, I would love them to see that one.
Has Hellelujah been overplayed lately, what a brave decision it would be to leave that one out?!?
I reckon Democracy could go perhaps. . . ?
Looking forward to seeing the first set list, bring it on!

Maybe Leonard will recite a poem or two by Yeats when playing in Lassadell. That would be great.

I live in eternal hope of hearing Nancy but I'm not very optimistic about the prospect. Leonard on guitar with Neil playing quietly in the background. It would be wonderful.

'Joan of Arc' would be wonderful. I've been listening to Cohen Live today and it's by far the highlight! 'Famous Blue Raincoat' was the song that undid me completely in Auckland last year. I was just the most beautiful version I'd ever heard. 'One of us Cannot be Wrong' is another all-time fave of mine, and wouldn't it be interesting to hear Leonard singing 'Song of Bernadette'? I've heard Jennifer Warnes, Judy Collins and Bette Midler do it, but never the composer himself! Oh, and also, I love the rare verse from 'So Long Marianne'....'Here comes the morning boat, here comes the evening train..." Please do that Leonard!!!
