Hi Cate, thanks for the prior comment, although I think of that particular poem or continuation of a poem, and maybe my poetry in general, as being more metaphysical than romantic... although I'm sure there are exceptions to that, or perhaps my romantic self is in some manner folded in there somehow... Anyway, it's something now to ponder...

Ms. V you rushed in to 'save' I.F. and transformed her N into a vision adorned in love, I think that's romantic ... but then I've never had a good grasp of romantic, so I might have been using the word in the wrong way.

Cate... as seems usual for me, I'm afraid... I somehow missed this post of yours... (I'm very distracted and just dip in here from time to time, so I guess I'm missing things)... I see what you mean, my doing that for I.F. is itself a romantic gesture... she really deserves this, actually, since she was once my knight in shining armor (before I knew she was a woman), but maybe she became a Joan of Arc after that, valiantly trying to save this forum from... well, itself, I should think... Okay, I see that as romantic then, I mean my doing that... and I guess the poem itself might be considered metaphysical then... is what I'm thinking, though I'll re-read it at a later point, and see what holds on this...

We are all guessing on that thread Cate.
Leonard's poems are written on several levels. D.B.Cohen tends to look for the connections that come from Jewish texts while I tend to look for Mystical perspectives/connections with other writers/Mystics. Neither of us are female and neither of us are YOU.
The thread, quite simply/honestly, is richer for your input and the input of all the other contributors who have enjoyed participating in that 'guessing game'.

I don't want you to feel 'guilty' now, do I? So come back and feel brave instead

i read this on the eve of spring as cate identifies. so nice to witness such nakedness, particularly now the warm weather has come.
i really liked the spring poems and i thank you all for responding to my original request and not dismissing me for all my pointedness.
it's very nice to come to find such openness in this cold detached and defensive age.
has anyone ever suggested compiling a collection of user poetry from the lc forum as a pamphlet or magazine? spring would be a good theme.

This simple little poem I wrote recently reminds me of your comment somehow... as where else to dwell inside our vulnerabilities than through poetry, I think... and maybe there's something spring like here too...

Love unseen, unknown,
unheard,
dances its mystery ‘round the
sleeping of this world

dances in daylight,
in brightly speckled forest

dances its grievances,
its joy, in silent chorus.

But open hearts, like
severed wounds, see
but neglect a friend

does sharing of such love
dissolve, when such as hurt
attends?

though quiet minds
find simple rooms,
this pen so near these
ends.
