Well that's very greedy of you Sam - have you asked the moon whether that's okay and I should tell you a have an official deed to one acre of moon. lot 2T58923
I'm wondering if you're doing some word play here Sean - Sam obviously I think of Uncle Sam but 'uncle of man' well that's not uncle Sam (I don't think) perhaps 'Sam' is a previous claimant on the moon?

Violet - I remember that poem it was one of the first ones you posted. what stood out most for me is the soft touch of the palm. Did you also have one about wanting to touch somebodies hand under the table?

Fuck the Moon!
Fuck the moon
waxing indecision
And cream cheese, beyond its sell-by date
Its selective romance
And its cloud disguise
Fuck the moon
And its illegitimate sun
Its yellow fever
And its boast of stardom
Fuck the moon
Golden boy of the Universe
And its broken imitation of an egg
Panned by its critics
HarryS
I love it!
(I adjusted the moonscape and had some fun)
Mat.

the moon looks nice in june
i can see it from my room
it looks like a yellow balloon
it's surface is in ruin
are there moon men up there
there where there is no air
if they can breathe without air
well then i say that's just not fair.

Hi Dasghoagg
if the moon is a balloon how does it stay afloat without any air.
Thank you V. for re-posting those poems. I love the romantic nature of the second one especially - it's quite beautiful.

.. this poem in some way has to do with this tarot deck of mine, in which the card called "Temperance" pictures a winged angel pouring water from a large goblet into another.. she's looking down and smiling slightly as she does this.. and there is a bright white light emanating off of the top of her head.. she wears a simple white gown, with a wide, rose-colored belt.. The card has a sense of reassurance about it.. to me it speaks of patience.. patience as a form of temperance, I guess.. and so in this poem it may seem more to do with patience, I think..
Temperance
As the moon and its
myriad faces
deceive
I will wait for thee,
even as I want
and I will wait,
even as my mind is
racing
and the splendid gowns
of temperance
will dress me in my
silent hour

I like that Violet - it's lovely, both the poem and the card.
Patience - yes, I can see that.
Everything in measure (still thinking of blueberry tea)

PATIENCE
what will patience do
for you?
it will be the cause
of your future
beauty
it will be the cause
for your friends
to be
fearless
and at ease
it will also destroy
all of your angry
minds
and peace and bliss
you will find
sean
Good morning, Violet, Cate, and all
from Sean in the UK
Patience is a very beautiful mind
and a beautiful theme for the day
thank you

(edit) THE MOON IS MINE (... July 20th 1969)
the moon is mine
i was there first
my name is sam
uncle of man
saviour of earth
and quencher of thirst
they flew up with a flag
from the USA
but they didn't know
that their heroic show
was eclipsed by my
birthday
sean
curious karma
...cancer
moon-sign...
....that day
I was sitting in a Montreal tavern,
midday,
having the first of many beers
to celebrate my birthday
(but I celebrated every day that same way)
i watched it all
on television
the moon invasion was peripheral
and i was non-plussed
as I was in my arrogant
and self-important phase
i didn't understand
what all the fuss was about

a poem written by a friend that I thought would fit very nicely here
(posted with permission of course)
singular matrix
Collect the smoothest stones you can find
each a seed that contains the moon’s pallor
carefully sift dirt, plant them, feed them, water them
faithfully and wait
for the constellation
to bloom.
You will learn the plural of “I”
is twice as lonely
but not as likely to forget
how to calculate
the circumference
of fidelity.

our flag
flies stiffly on the moon
our Sun
will never burn it off

flies stiffly on the moon

A NEW TIME IS COMING
According to Reverend Sun Myung Moon,
this present materialistic age will soon
yield to a new age of spirituality,
one based on the universal principle of no individuality.
"No other religious leader has founded as many organizations, institutions and projects for world peace and the betterment of society." Well, it hasn't bloody worked, has it. Can I have my mo(o)ney back please?
