8 new cities in The Maritimes
Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes
Our pre-sale information comes directly from the tour management. Maybe the ticket office staff has not yet been updated.
Anyway you will find out on Tuesday.
After the shows in May and June the tour will continue in Europe. No Western Canada, no US in the summer schedule. What happens in the Fall and Winter remains to be seen.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
"Hi Ben,
I believe they have decided not to do a fan club pre-sale. Regular tickets will be going on sale on Thursday March 20th at noon. I imagine it will be quite busy. You can order the tickets online, in person or over the phone. I would suggest doing it the way you are most comfortable. If you have any more questions please let me know.

Just got this e-mail from the Fredericton Playhouse.

Hi Jarkko,
I'm not sure if anybody came up with this idea already, and if it's technically feasible but -- would it be possible to e-mail the pre-sale password to all the Forum members, rather then posting it on the website ?
This way you would avoid giving the password to the E-bay resellers.
greetings from California,
Mirka

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Sending out an email to about 6000 receivers would be classified as spam by many ISPs and spam software, and I guess there are also scalpers/touts who have registered to this forum. The Maritimes dates are basically directed to local people. The concerts are in a way dress rehearsal for the bigger venues. These take place in very small theaters, and they will sell out in minutes. A few reports from the area unfortunately suggest that some ticket booths of the theaters have already been selling tickets or reservations under the counter, so it remains to be seen if there are any tickets left when they go on-sale.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Could the rampant denial of pre-sale passwords by various boxoffices possibly be a ruse to try dissuading scalpers, etc..., from buying them out? I don't see how/why a venue would not implement the pre-sale when it was set up by the tour managers.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Looks like anyone going to the Fredericton show won't have to worry about the pre-booking, it seems they've decided against it, and are only offering pre-sale tickets to Playhouse donors on Wednesday.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Can they really even make that choice?
Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Apparently the pre-booking with these smaller venues is done through their own box office and not some third party, so it seems like they've got the control.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Oh well. I have a feeling that it'll be hard to get tickets, but I don't even think it'll sell out on Thursday. Close, but there'll probably be a few left. I hope at least. There are quite a few maritime shows, so there won't be as many people clamoring for tickets.

and i'm happy to stalk the Confed Centre box office early Thursday to try to get tickets, but i want to figure out if there's something i can do to make tickets more likely.

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes with pre-booking!
Contrary to our earlier notice, no pre-booking is available to the Maritimes concerts due to the technical difficulties related to ticketing systems of the small theaters

As much as I understand that the reason for this World Tour in part is LC's financial predicament, I wish he and the management would make it easier for the fans to get tickets.
The information about pre-sales seems to be confusing and inconsistent, and -as I understand- there is no guarantee the particular venues will follow the pre-sale rules.
Is it possible that LC is not informed how the idea of pre-sale is implemented ? doesn't care, or is not in position to decide ?
When I saw him in concert in Warsaw in 1985, the virtual line was formed in front of the box office a week in advance (a piece of paper with our names on it) and we had to check the list in person every eve. However strange it sounds, this system worked pretty well and the most persistent fans got their tickets.
Never in my life had I dreamed I would go through a similar predicament again ! Only this time it seems to be more confusing.
Oh well, I guess the world is not that simple anymore....

Re: 8 new cities in The Maritimes
Hi Mirka, as I told you in the other thread Leonard has absolutely nothing to do with the routine ticket booking. The tour - just like any tour of "big names" - is organized by a large, world-wide tour operator and its local affiliates, and the booking to the concerts goes through local ticketing companies. There is no return to the "old days"! Here in the Europe (especially in UK) the scalpers/touts are a big problem. Some festivals - like Glastonbury - are fighting against them, but that makes the booking very difficult for the music lovers - pre-registration/photo/ID cards...photos and names printed on the tickets to make them absolutely non-transferable... and so on. Reports from Europe show, however, that most forum members have got tickets directly from the original sellers, so after all things are rolling along better than some of us suspected. And our members got hundreds of pre-sale tickets to five concerts in Toronto & Montreal!

What's the word on a password for pre-sale on the Halifax venue?
