Hello all Cohenites,
its been a blast sharing this experience with so many of you,
at the start we did not know much about Leonard Cohen but now
it has been suggested that we could undertake a Thesis on the interactions in the Sligo threads on this forum,
who knows, we might just encourage that .
we are heading for Sligo today and altho we will be training and working on Lissadell site (thanks to Mick) we may be better placed for delivering information and advice to the forum.
When the concerts are over we hope to open a feedback thread for the Sligo Chamber of Commerce and the Coming together for Sligo committee.
The new thread will not be a platform for reviews of the concert but a feedback on visitor's experiences in Sligo / Ireland over next weekend.
Thanks Mick for the opportunity and help,
Lolita and Malcom :D .

Hi I'm so looking forward to saturday for my first LC concert.
Is anyone else camping?
Will there be shuttle buses to & from the campsites?

Hi everybody, I know that the gates open at 4:00pm but does anybody know when the concert is supposed to start?

Could anybody give me advice on parking? We are travelling by (rental) car from Dublin and I'd like to know if there is parking available within walking distance or if we'd need to catch a bus taking us from parking to the venue.

Thanks a lot for your most appreciated help!

Mike

Hi Mike

Concert starts at 7.30pm.

There are shuttle buses running from sligo town so it might be best to leave the car there as it could be a long walk from car park to lisadell.

hi all,

not at all familiar with the West of Ireland. We booked to stay in Castle Dargan after the Sunday night concert. We weren't prompt enough to get somewhere closer to Sligo when buying the tickets!

Any suggestions as to how best to get to the venue. Would we have to drive to Sligo & get a shuttle bus to Lissadel? Those buses seem to be leaving quite early. We are both quite elderly and our preference would be to arrive at Lissadel closer to 6.30 p.m.

So looking forward to seeing LC!

There has just been a report on the Lissadell gigs showing the stage and seats on RTE news. Stage looks massive. If a link appears on RTE.IE I'll post it it :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Word is that the Concert will start at 7.30 sharp.
There is parking near Lissadell (on the grounds I believe),
It is expected that farmers in the area will open fields for parking.
It has been suggested that they should provide lights to enable people to find cars following the Concert
It would be a good idea to travel out early if availing of parking.
kween is right , it may be a good walk from parking area.
Parking is available throughout the town and at the Bus Eireann Station.
Tickets are 10 euro return from there.
Previous Post on this thread cover this service.
discoversligo also have bus service from Markievicz Road, but must be pre-booked ;-)

Prioity Bus service from Castle Dargan at 3pm each afternoon.
valc, 6.30 might be leaving it a bit late for parking :!: ,
you could take a taxi from Sligo to Carney and then get the shuttle bus to Lissadell otherwise there will be several bus services from the town, some outlined above, (at least three bus companies operating).
I am waiting on word from the other companies regarding times etc.
;-)
