I've been to the Kilmainham venue a few times as my brother used to live around the corner. However I don't see how it would be big enough for a Leonard concert. It used to be a hospital and has is a four sided building with a smallish courtyard in the middle. The inside is like hospital wards as you would imagine (long and narrow) and the courtyard small. There is quite a bit of land around it though so maybe they would use this area for the concert. Last time I went there it was the Modern Art Museum so I can't imagine them using the inside or the courtyard. When the rumour of a Dublin venue came up I presumed it would be Marley Park which is used by a lot of artists for concerts and is a favourite haunt of mine when I was young, it is a really beautiful setting too at the foot of the Wicklow mountains. I suppose all should be revealed pretty soon so we can stop guessing. If there is a concert in Kilmainham then there is a really good pub around the corner called The Patriot's Arms.

I have received information that the recent (yesterday & today) announcements by festival organizers are not based on facts.
So please wait for official announcements before you book any tickets.

It is oh!, so difficult to remain pacient...
I have exactly the same feeling as when I was a child awaiting Xmas Eve and Santa's arrival with presents. Then I used to have my Advent Calendar and each day I ate a corresponding piece of chocolate and the longing wasn't really that hard nor that bad at all. But still, it was long...
I am peeping into the forum several times a day, and browsing the web looking for any hints is becoming an obsession. What is worse I am begining to slightly exceed the deadlines at work.
Well, I'll think about it tomorrow. Now I will go for a piece of chocolate to make a waiting a little bit sweeter... :)

Hi Joney

The Kilmainham site, as you say, is the home of IMMA, the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The report states that Leonard's will be an outdoor gig. There is land around IMMA, between it and St. John's Road, a downward sloping grassed area suitable for a stage at the low end and the audience rising on the slope. Loosely resembles an amphitheatre. POD Concerts has applied for planning permission. Last autumn this venue was used by the same promoters for the Some Days Never End festival, featuring Kila, The Frames, Pet Shop Boys and others. The report says that Iggy Pop will appear at this venue on 16th June, with support from The Kills and Stiff Little Fingers. BUT - 'a spokesman for POD Concerts declined to confirm' . As Jarkko says - we have to wait and see!!

He'll fill it.

And it really doesn't matter where he plays. As long as he plays.
