Is this an employment exchange or simply a place for middle-aged women to tattle?

Actually, neither. It's a place for old men to brag and complain ;-) .

William, you seem to be living very dangerously. First taking on the IRA, and now sparring with the ladies. I fear you may discover that the ladies can make the the IRA look like pacifists!

This remark implies there were no women in the IRA, not so.

Technically true, Marcie, of course!

Liz, I believe is a rare Yank who doesn't claim any Irish heritage (If I remember correctly)

I plead poetic license and apologise.

Add me to the unrare Yanks...

My heritage is ~ from my father's side: English, Scots-Irish; from my mother's side: Polish.

Nothing like a glass of wine at the end of a new week, Tinderella. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it 8) .

Jesus! I was wondering: What's that Floridian doing in this thread when she's not even going to the Dublin concerts!

Sean

As an afterthought to Marcie:
If there had been a few more women in the IRA
maybe be would have the north counties today,
and the 'Williams' out of the way a long time ago!

I have a ticket for Saturday and will stay until Monday. Today I learned that Bonnie Prince Billy will have a gig on Sunday 15. If you hear anything about the venue please let me know. Looks like a great combination. Leonard on Saturday, Bonnie on Sunday.
