Leonard promised that the names will be made public next week. Some musicians have toured with him before, but most of them are new.

Jarkko, as you obviously have the information why don't you get off your high horse and just give it to us?
I, like many others, am not enjoying having to check this damn board five times a day just to see you piddle out another bit of info every few days. the PR agencies are gonna release the dates as soon as they get a whiff of them so why let them piss on your bonfire?... just give us the damn dates and venues that you know then we can all get on with our daily chores.

regards

the doctor.

ps. and to the oldies moaning about having to take their children to a festival with mud and all the other perils of the world. If leonard can get to the festival and go through the ordeal of playing at his age im sure you can manage to sit on your ass and listen... even if its raining real rain.

I don't have any dates yet - just the same announcements by the festival organizers we all have seen, plus private emails from several countries from people who say they know about the local concert. Posting rumors does not serve anybody's interests. I will put every crumb of information on the site after it is confirmed by Leonard or his management.

Leonard will give officially us the names of the band members next week, and we will show the names immediatelly after getting his permission, not before!

the doctor seems a little irate, maybe he should calm down and take it easy, the tickets will not go on sale the moment jarkko reveals the news, so give yourself a break and check in once a day, no need to get uptight. We are all eager to know.

thankgod, they are alive.

paula, all i wanted was to hear someone say something other than...

'hi, im new here, when are the gigs, im so excited 'enter lame cohen quote', have a lovely day!'

...so it was nice to read your post. I read it to myself from the lips of a hungry woman, plum breasts and bonfire eyes.

i am a miserable bastard though, you were right about that... though to be honest this is a leonard cohen message board. I would imagine you would struggle to find a single place where such levels of misery lurk on a constant basis. i should also point out that i am very happy in my misery.

'have a lovely day!'

I'm new here :) an avid Leonard fan of 34 years! went to 1988 and 1993 gigs. Am extremely excited about the tour news and have often visited this site and thought of joining. Somehow today incensed by the Doctor's boorish remarks - how can someone purporting to be a Leonard fan be so unnecesarily rude??!! wanted to say i think you do a great job Jarkko!

to the doctor: you're "a little bit" out of tone, to put it nicely
the question is not so much about the children but the music itself. i am going to see iron maiden this summer as well and i know and accept what kind event it is going to be.
but, for g-ss sake, we are talking about Leonard's music! I want to hear him singing without people vomitting or drinking beer next to me. all i want is to listen to his music live. it is a question of atmosphere not principles!
and yes, i want to take my kids to the concert because i am making LC fans out of them.
and hey, i am not an oldie (unless 28 is old for you)
no offence: i just hope the next time you post you won't be so careless with your words.
to paula: just a "thank you"

I do hope Lenny's not playing the O2 Arena - it's a great arena, but way too big methinks. :(

i have been to glastonbury 5 or 6 times and i have never had anyone throw beer over me or vomit by my side. the jazz world stage is a chilled out atmosphere, most people tend to sit on the grass and one would imagine there will be a dance act on one of the other stages and a more mainstream headline act on the main stage... i cant imagine the beer chugging 17 year olds wanting to hear leonard any more than we would want them there. for me the thing with glastonbury is that it is huge risk... it will either be amzing (more so than an albert hall and certainly an 02 show) or ruined by factors out of his and our control.

to the doctor: well, i've never been to this one but i know what i am talking about as far as benicassim is concerned. still i think a concert hall is better to listen to LC than a festival, although i admitt i.e. montreaux would be a perfect goal.
nonetheless, still waiting for the miracle (that is more dates and venues) to come...
jarkko, ed sanders... have mercy!

This is phenomenal news,
Leonard Cohen to serenade us in the gardens beside the great solemn monument for our executed 1916 heroes that is the Kilmainham Jail. I told you all years ago it was a must visit when in Dublin, you can't miss it now. :-)

I wonder will Leonard sing Kevin Barry for us again. I take my hat off to POD Concerts and kick myself for not copping earlier that they would be the obvious promoters of the Dublin shows as it was they who staged that wonderful night last year we had with Anjani.

A magnicent job Jarkko as always and I know you are well able to rise above the unneccesary vile the previous anonomous contributor posted. Good luck to you in what will be a very busy year and if you need any local help in Dublin just email me.

For visitors the Hilton Hotel Kilmainham is the closest hotel, just across the road literally form where the concert will take place.
For concert news you can register with the promoters at http://www.pod.ie

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am at this news from this mornings newspaper and Jarkko's confirmation today. I also agree with Jimmy's much earlier post about the likelihood that Bono will 'Hijack' the event. I am sure red poppy would agree also.

Anyway, we dream of June and hope it stays dry. Guess what else, a turkey is going to win the Eurovision this year. :D

Go Jarkko,

Go Dustin!! :D

I'm with The Doctor. It's nice to see a little emotion on these boards... besides just gushing.
