Christine m'dear you are on the list right after Dar. What's all this talk of drinking and smoking? Man, I always seem to get high enough without all that. Although I did need to take a very large whiskey to calm myself down on Saturday night. Anyhow, it's OK we won't have any rules. Except for one: if anyone brings any Joe Dolan tapes they will be dumped at the services. The person will be left there I mean. No second chances.

Laurie any chance of you coming over from Alaska to come on Tour?

If my dear friend Tchocolatl came along I would be stratospherically happy.

I have already finished one of RP's books, and I also think that it didn't suck. I start many books, but finishing is a rarity.

Happy to be giving you such in-depth reviews, RP 8) .

Ah, Dianneae, I spy the gap in your expensively funded education. You clearly needed to spend some time in a Swiss 'Finishing School.' ;-)

OOps, sorry, I meant to say that having been appraised of the cut of your curtains, that you really must spend time at the Swish Finishing School. :D :? ;-) I can 'Book' you in for a short course if you feel the need.

Poppy~ It has migrated to the top of what I am reading so I'll be getting back to it this weekend. I've almost finishied Ted Kooser's, Home repair manual for poetry and this really great book called, Crashing Through, a true story about a fella who regained his sight after forty years of being blind...Oh yeah, and The Unraveling Archive, a newly released book of essays on Plath. You're in good company...

Diane~
Come over for a tour? I don't know? All the way from Alaska? That could get expensive!! And I might be tempted to lay bare the minutia of my financial struggles to make it there, here on the board (which would then be: the bored).
Seriously, the answer is maybe. I'm a huge fan of Leonard's and know the simple answer is, Yes, I'll do anything to be there. But it's just not that simple for me and I don't mean for financial reasons. So, maybe.

cheers,
Laurie

I imagine Leonard will be touring a lot closer to you than Europe, Laurie, but if you do make it over, a few of us here will be dead chuffed. I know it wouldn't be easy for you. See how things pan out, then...

Byron, what you meant to say was that your camping days are over, and that you had finished with your swiss army knife, and would lend it me so that we can get the corks out of the bottles when we are on Tour.

Would everyone planning on coming on Tour please peruse Alberto's wine list, and put your orders into Alberto, via Byron, in plenty of time, as we need to ensure the essentials are sorted. Don't forget to stipulate no. of cases. Alberto loves us all, and isn't charging.

Thanks,

Leonard would best decide to stay over here, given that he has spent some seriously qualitative time on this side of the pond. All of those flights he's done may create DVT.
Margaret has never been in the Swiss Army!
Our tour buses will accommodate several passengers and their crates. We will need to know if passengers want to stay on the same bus as their crates. Some passengers, we know, will choose to stay on someone else's bus with someone else's crates. CCTV is being installed on the buses as I type. Wash room facilities are standard equipment on all buses. Additional wash basins can be fitted near to the passenger door to negate the need to chuck-up to the outside, while the bus is moving. Meals can be pre-ordered, but please note that carrots will not be part of any meals prepared on the tour. (See the note about additional wash basins)
There is a no smoking policy throughout Europe, but it has been noted that as the bus crosses between countries' borders, the state known as 'no man's land' is an ideal place for a quick drag. See English (GB) for 'drag.'
During the course of the tour there will be opportunities to visit some of the cultural centres of the countries that we shall be passing through. Amsterdam, Hamburg, Soho, immediately 'jump' to mind. Excursions can be arranged for a small fee. See the driver at the back of the bus during any 'comfort' stop.
In order to keep the weight of luggage to a minimum, passengers are responsible for filling their own suitcases, holdalls, backpacks, handbags, and thigh length leather high heeled boots, with helium gas. The gas will be provided after breakfast at the start of each day's journey. Failure to comply with this matter, will mean that passenger's bags will be filled with methane, at the first 'comfort' stop. Such passengers will be allocated seats at the rear of the bus, next to the on-board washroom.

Oh, yes, Hamburg, very well chosen, Byron!

I'm told that there are some extremely illuminating establishments on Teddybearplatz and also on Honeybunnystrasse? They are by the lake, just to the west of Saarlandstr. The formal gardens on the north side of the lake are a favourite meeting place for Honey Connoisseurs. The flowers displayed, provide a truly high class choice for the local bees. Perhaps our coach party could stop off for a swim in the lake? It will have been a few days since their last wash.

ispellit, you are henning's sister, I gather 8) . I probably met you in Berlin without realising. Is Henning a Hamburger like yourself?

Nein, Byron, each day begins at 6am with a dip in the closest lake. That's the only rule.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, Diane, but actually I'm a different Kerstin. I'm the one from Hamburg where the day for some certain people begins with an early morning drop into the "Alster" or "Stadtparksee". ;-)

But anyway, nice to meet you! :)
K.

BTW. The only part of GB I've ever been to was Wales and I loved it. We've been hiking through your beautiful landscape with our school class many years ago.

Oops, sorry about the mistaken identity. Nice to meet you, too Kerstin :) . Aha, if you loved Wales, then Tim and I might soon be floating an idea for an LC hike in Snowdonia, possibly for next Autumn, (but subject to being changed to a later date depending on Leonard's Tour plans). Maybe we can twist your arm to come over for that, and meet up with a few of us.

...... I do hope that Leonard, if he tours does realize his value and make the best seats very expensive (Yes, very expensive). We are for the most part an older generation and have more disposable income and he is worth it.

.........
I'm not so old and don't have so much of a disposable income and although I would pay more for an LC concert than for others, I still hope all the tickets will be affordable for everyone.
