The only person promoting an event book 'entry' is lizzie and nobody else. It's a fun competition started by michael. It isn't much fun anymore. It's been highjacked.

I hadn't considered that interpretation; but, no, that wasn't my point or suggestion. Was that thought included in your own comment? I was suggesting, however, that I don't feel it would be offensive to him or for the booklet.
It's been highjacked.
By whom? If by me, when the question of what would be the reward was posed; why would suggesting that what's already been done, as a reward, be done again, be hijacking?

It originally seemed to me that having it read aloud in front of 60+ Cohen fans was 'reward' enough.

Liz, maybe you should just start posting and thinking and conjecturing for yourself and stop being the poetry police, the Leonard-would-like-this-police and taking something I said out of context...your sense of humor does not jive with mine or you would have recognized my tongueincheek inquiry. I write for its own rewards. Try it sometime...

lizzie, stop turning this into a multipage semi-diatribe about a bloody poetry competition. PLEASE.

Go and make a pot of Earl Grey. Sit and listen to the birds. Read a good book. Let this fun competition take its course. PLEASE.

Your context is varying on its own, Laurie.

Byron ~

Please quit playing the blame game in my direction.

Reasonable suggestions and thoughts do not a diatribe make. Why don't you go write and have some fun?

Did someone say, "Hi, Jack"? We've been looking for him over in the ng, did he pop in here?

Birdonawire - you have definitely been let go from the job. Might you reconstruct yourself as a poet?

Laurie - why won't you enter?

hi Damellon~

It has to do with the weather...well atmospheric conditions more specifically.

Michael came up with a f.u.n. little contest (he's sooo funny) and I do hope that folks get goofy and enter lots of poems and like you say bask in the Glory 8) Maybe next time if the weather stays clear, I'll give it a try. Or maybe I'll judge again...who knows.

No worries,
Laurie

I think it might have to do with collective consciousness, peer pressure, loin cloths and Doritos.

I believe it has to do with prams, toys, and throwing out syndrome.
