LC himself apparently has no problem with the Jew’s harp, the instrument or its name. For some reason he likes using it, and mentions it, as you know, in “Last Year’s Man” (“… that’s a Jew’s harp on the table / that’s a crayon in his hand”). The origin of the name is obscure, but according to the ODE it was probebly brought from Asia to England by Jews, and so gained its name.

Thanks for that OED[?] ~ is that the same or similar to the ODE? ~ info, DBCohen. I feel it's one of the more intriguing sounds that musical instruments are capable of making.

Lizzy,

Sorry for using acronyms instead of plain language. I meant the Oxford English Dictionary, the mother of all dictionaries (and their father too).

Yes, DBC, it's my favourite, too... though it could be considered an ODE, an ODE to words and communication.

Worst for me...

I don't really like On That Day. I know its supposed to be a tribute to 9/11 or whatever but the song doesn't feel like it belongs on DH.

I see some votes for Humbled in Love. I have been in a relationship like that where the other person felt he was stuck in a pile of crap and resented me but I was in it as deeply as he was, willingly....
